Rival Wings Chat insanely toxic, please allow us to blist people not in out alliance

Any of you who are playing this has seen this.

It ranges from quiet to cap locked ranting and berating other players.
(Of course the ones screaming at everyone never make mistakes, and it's always everyone else's fault)

It gets really bad when it your team starts to fall behind a bit, even if it is totally not a loss yet.

The way the system works now you can only blist players if they were one of the 4 man in your alliance.
(unless they are on the same server as you then you can do a player search)

To be honest I would also be happy with the entire removal of the chat, even though I firmly believe it is a very useful tool.

Some players will sit there being negative for the entire match, then blame everyone else.

I am certain some will come in saying, they have never seen anything toxic in the chat of course. Although, I do not believe this is a rare occurrence.

There should be automute function like in all advanced MMOs. Enough players mute him and he'll have chats disabled for a couple of days.

They added a Contacts list which shows everyone you've played with recently and it let's you cross-world blacklist, but I don't think blacklisting people even has any effect on instances. I hope that isn't true any more. It dulls out cross-world PF groups started by people who are on your blacklist, but apart from that...

It's been a year and 2 days since the thread I linked. And while SE never listened to a word any of the majority said there, so too has quick chat NOT fixed the problem it was intended to as seen here.

So I can't let this go.

Tell me, without chat, how do you tell your team mid's been taken? How do you tell that guy trying to attack players in an Oppressor that it's no use and would be better used on a tower? How do you inform your team that an enemy player who's a Lalafell has hidden themselves between your exposed core, and the small steps leading from the starting area (a place that they can fit into and be hidden perfectly)?

How do you ask for cover on a push? How do you tell your team that guy you almost took down is low enough to be finished off to prevent him from reaching an objective? How do you tell your guys on the cannons, currently facing north without their maps open, that there are 4 people on foot going for the core from the south? These are all VERY real scenarios I've encountered in just the first week, and you can guarantee any kind of chat restriction will impact this. No.

    NO.

Are you trying to kill this mode? The first new mode PvP has gotten since 3.3? The first new anything GOOD PvP has gotten in Stormblood? Because THAT is how you would kill it. You have a lifelining original PvP community, now struggling to find something to enjoy beside a new community that neither actually cares for, or understands what they're playing, as long as it gives XP and some shiny reward to grind. Those same people will get that reward and drop PvP like a bad habit, and if that original community is finally fed up and quits entirely because of such a terrible change as what you said above, what then? Who'll be having fun then? Is that what you want?

It sucks to lose. No one enjoys it. Some people can't mind their manners and hold their tongues. Just like in PvE content. Until that's going to be considered a valid and reasonable thing to do in PvE, do not - and I encourage you to read what was linked so you understand the emphasis here - do not EVER suggest something like that for this game, ever again. It benefits no one, and would be a death blow to PvP in this game.

    No.

    Oh hell no!

Do not say remove the chat.

This exact thing destroyed the Feast for me. I have done about 500 matches and I never want to go back to it.

    Why?

I am so tired of watching one person on the other team get 250 medals and then run to their base and hide. I can’t tell my team that killing that person will win the match for us and where to go. I could tell my teammates what I saw, but I’m not allowed to talk to them. I could teach people tricks of the trade, things to look for and to consider, but I can’t talk to them. That makes me a very sad panda.

Yes, I have seen arguments and yelling in PVP.

That is part of the nature of PVP. It is competitive with winners and losers. People don’t want to lose, nobody does.

Some people handle it better than others. Some will yell and scream their bloody head off, which is what you are bringing up. I have seen it and it isn’t pleasant to watch.

Even with that. There are other people who will try and educate other players. They do that through chat. Removing that removes any ability to teach and for new people to learn and grow. By doing that they gain enjoyment. Removing chat never lets that live feedback allowing them to learn, grow and flourish better than if they didn’t have that learning tool.

To limit and on a certain level, harm new players like that is a very steep price to pay. I am against that happening.

I don't see it lasting long anyways Third.

It's really not fun to try and push a lane and run across five white mages, or get deleted by two tanks, or get one shot by bj's laser which instantly hits before the aoe indicator even shows. Even winning isnt fun because its all about the mechs; if you aren't a healer or tank you can't really do much but be cannon fodder. Players are just too cheap in it and the matches too one sided.

Well, you're going to have to be ok with the fact that new players don't also want to play a mode where people yell at them either. I mean, no one is forcing people to play Feast, and if people are unpleasant enough, people will stop doing it. Losing sucks, but getting yelled at for losing is what led to the chat ban.

I hear you, but I'm almost certain that something will be done about the healer thing. I just hope the right thing is done (personal opinion: adjust/remove Soaring effect on healers. They're strong enough without it). As for the mechs, alternative strats are already starting to pop up, though it's only a week old. Maybe it's just my reckless bravery/tenacity, but I've taken to attacking mechs on foot, knowing they can't be healed, and that so long as I can close the gap, they're at a disadvantage to target me. I spend most of my matches out of mechs than in, and in a weird way, it's more fun that way. Mileage varies, of course.

Removing chat isn't a solution for this wide a scale event. In feast its bad enough i can't really communicate strats to anyone.

Anyway, the main problems are people not looking at map/seeing where enemy mechs are, not defending your own mechs, and yes healers are waaay to strong in PVP. They need to limit MP regen or give them healing fatigue after cure spamming for so long. It shouldn't take 6 dps to kill 1 healer because they never run out of mp.
