    consistent client freeze in void ark and rabanastre requiring restart of client

    1. enter void ark or rabanastre

    first off, the hardware is most certainly not at fault here, as the error report i am getting when this freeze occurs specifically states it is ffxivclient.exe hanging. i am running windows 8.1. nvidia GeForce GTX 880M. 16gb internal ram. consistently throughout every attempt to do the raids in question, i have only been able to be present in the raid for approximately 5 minutes before the freezes occur in bosses. the raid will function perfectly fine until the boss then at complete random times during the bosses the client freezes, reverting to stills of something from minutes ago, sometimes a loading screen even. my laptop is not being overclocked and i am not running any programs with overlays. as i stated with rabanastre, it will function perfectly fine for mateus the corrupt but will begin to freeze until the fight is finished and i am logged back in when the raid progresses to Hashmal, sometimes with him resulting in a "strobe light" effect before freezing where i see a bunch of seizure-ific triangles flashing quickly across my screen covering most of it, that strobe light has occured in the sephirot-ex phase change as well one time a few months ago but consistently happens approximately 1 in 10 times that Hashmal freezes the client.

    my estimate is that the client is trying to call for something that it does not call for anywhere else in the game during the bosses in void ark and rabanastre, which is causing the hang. my graphics card as with all parts in this laptop are kept in pristine condition to prevent any possibility of dust buildup causing malfunctions. these freezes have only been more and more frequent and are completely preventing me from participating in end game content with my free company. i am getting quite annoyed with these to the point where i am almost considering quitting this game since the developers seem to have optimized the game for run of the mill laptops and has a lot of problems with nvidia cards, as these freezes are occasionally accompanied by an error message from nvidia controll pannel saying the driver has crashed because of an error within ffxivclient.exe.
