Did you not see the second letter from the producer? They are clearly working on jump and said they were polishing it up.
It hasn't slowed down things yet, even if there is not content yet for jump. Did you just read what you typed? It's coming in 2.0... why would the new team release something that won't work? Look at the initial release of this game and see if they will make that mistake again.
I did read what I typed, seems people doesn't understand the difference, but this is the Final Fantasy XIV forums after all. Make a basic java application and see how easily one tiny error can slow down the completion of your app compared to if you had no errors at all.Did you not see the second letter from the producer? I should probably start on a FFXIV forum dictionary of some sort.
Define:Slow Down - "Final Fantasy XIV Forum. v. The act of coming to a complete stop."
This is what people seem to think is meant by "slow things down", it doesn't necessarily mean it'll halt everything, it simply means if there's content that uses it and the mechanic isn't working, it'll slow progress, not kill it. "Polishing it up" means the mechanic itself, i.e hit button > jump is being polished, however implementation into content, i.e hit button > jump > dodge TP move > traverse platforms > fall off platforms > etc isn't in that equation, you do have to program interaction, it doesn't just happen, and if that isn't working properly, as you said yourself, why would SE push out something half-ass again?
Think about that.

I still don't get where you see that the jump mechanic itself isn't working when it's not even implemented yet with the new maps (that aren't implemented yet).I did read what I typed, seems people doesn't understand the difference, but this is the Final Fantasy XIV forums after all. Why must you bring in a rude definition and add this other mumbo jumbo into the equation that doesn't even justify not adding it?

If you all had watched the videos more closely it has a full 3 seconds of a Chocobo jump diving forward down a ledge. That goes to show you its not just some generic pos jump action so you can hop over a log, its going to be a directional jump meaning even quicker travel or if you have a bad sense of direction, hitting more trees.

Meaning jumping would be the preferred form of travel? Why take a chocobo or airship when you can jump there just as quickly lol.If you all had watched the videos more closely it has a full 3 seconds of a Chocobo jump diving forward down a ledge. more than likely it will be held until 2.0 because there's been no mention in writing about the feature yet. This lack of information could point to a later completion date but since the video contained it there is definitely a future for it.
Nothing will utilize it until 2.0, when the area redesigns come around. Nobody should really even be concerned with this until then. They have PLENTY of time to get things done right.
Jumping doesn't and shouldn't increase forward momentum. In fact, it should slightly decrease it. In no game I've played except maybe Quake 3 does jumping help you move faster.Meaning jumping would be the preferred form of travel? Completely, totally this.I still don't get where you see that the jump mechanic itself isn't working when it's not even implemented yet with the new maps (that aren't implemented yet).
