Healing bots in raids

Just out of Deltascape 2 - seems a group of newcomers decided to join this one particular time. My co-WHM was quick to write out tactics after a wipe (seeing as people didn't use the lift-mechanic to share gravitation damage on the two healers). However, said tactic-spewing WHM didn't throw a single stone or DoT for the entire fight afterwards. Not only was I maintaining my DPS rotation (I was a stern advocate of Cleric Stance in the past), but keeping the entire raid topped up and had to raise at least 7 times -- meanwhile, I think I saw them casting MedII once in a while and possibly some CureI's.

It's upsetting to know that even with Cleric Stance now gone (RIP), some people are either too scared or too lazy to even throw out some Aero's at the very least. The Netflix angle is a poor excuse - if you're not entertained enough by the game itself, then why log in? Log out and go watch your movie - someone who actually enjoys using a class to its fullest would be welcomed.

I saw this with a healer not too long ago. Well either they were a bot or was watching stuff on the side and didn't give a crap, they definitely were not new to the duty. They kept dying to the same AOEs (o4n) and never bothered to move, so eventually I just stopped rezxing them and called them out that I'm not going to waste my mp on them if they aren't going to make an effort. Of course I got called the jerk, but I don't sign up to solo heal unless it's via PF and this was through DF, so yeah.

Bot or not, it's still lazy.

Also, most raids tend to be unsynced and healers can heal through the AOE's/mechanics a lot of the time.

In general people just stand around also because raids can be boring if you do one too many times or are unsynced and it is very easy.

I'm not talking about these times. I'm talking about synced stuff. Nor am I talking about standing around because you can take the damage. I'm talking about scripted, repeated movement that makes no sense. It's one thing to stand in an AOE that'll do dmg enough to kill you when you're unsync -- you'll survive it. It's another thing just to do the same thing over and over and stand in that AOE that just killed you 10 times before while all you're doing is casting stone.

Because it's my time and I'm carrying them? And more parties aren't aware enough to go with a vote dismiss.

It's also very difficult to vote kick when you only realize the situation when the fight has actually started and you can see who is doing what (or isn't doing).

Seconded on the difficulty of kicking in raids. Drops need to be rolled on and it's entirely possible to clear the trash and get to the next boss before the previous loot rolls have timed out.

Whilst not a bot, I saw a CNJ trolling in Rabanastre a week or so back, as mentioned, they didn't roll on stuff, rushed to pull the next pack/boss and then went afk whilst occasionally baiting people in chat. By the time the raid irritated enough to stop pulling and wait to be able to kick them, they simply dropped the raid before the vote could go through. Ironically they then managed to get back in on Argath only to start spouting more nonsense :/

Back on topic, I totally wouldn't be surprised to see a bot capable of running 24 mans. There's plenty out there that are doing far more complex stuff already sadly.

Well all these points to serious problems with design of the game, the system, the governing body.
All these instances where healers dont even need to heal. All these instances where you cant get the loot you need without throwing in months of work. All these functions that are just a time waster. All these instances you cant even get a party for. A policy that allows unacceptable behaviour and promotes the undesirable.

You need to make the devs do something about it.

Oh, have you guys tried the player search in the social menus. If you pull it up you will see a long long list of bots.

Bit of a necro? But anyways, it's a topic that's come up here fairly often. It basically comes down to... if you do stuff minimum ilvl sync healing is needed, but realistically we all outgear stuff so badly healing is trivialized. Unfortunate, but... Such is the nature of low tier content.
