You wanna Tank in 8 and 24 Man content but stay OT?

That\\'s fine and all, but when the MT falls, you need to switch oaths and pick up the hate. Heck, even the occasional adds need picking up and should be done so in your thank stance.

Too often im seeing you OTs stay OT when the MT falls. Chances are you aren\\'t second on the aggro list and now your WHM or BLM is being tank bustered.

Posting this in General Discussions because the tanks who aren\\'t already switching oaths as needed seldom visit the Tank Roles forum I take it.

Some people queue as tank because of the short queues. However, the situation you're describing I see it all the time in 24-man dungeons specifically. I understand you might be new and fairy insecure, but if you queued as a tank, try and do your designated role if needed. Yeah, you might die and f**k up potentially, but at least you tried and learned a little.

The tanks that don't do this don't even visit the forums. I doubt saying anything here will help.

But some people just want the fast queue.

What I dont understand is 24 man, as I have found myself waiting a while for those queues to pop as a tank.

I just got back into the game in the last few weeks and am working my SCH up to 70 but want to try getting my PLD up there too so I will jump into DF when I dont need the extra exp for my healer. I simply tell them I havent tanked in 2 years and will OT until needed, normally somebody will mention something if they need me to specifically pick something up and if not I will try to stay near the top of aggro just in case I need to jump in. Other than that I will try to use cover and such to help out and do my best not to take damage so I am not taxing the healers. Works out fine most of the time.

Then you have the ones where no one wants to pull so you sit there for like 1 min, finally say screw it and pull it, then they ot in tank stance spamming 1 2 3 hate combo getting the alliance cleaved forcing you to spam 1 2 3, too.

What I dont like is when I go in with all intentions of mt and then someone just decides now they wana mt , Dont understand why people do this. I do a ready check, countdown, put the boss in the right spot away from party and all of a sudden a warrior decides they wana mt its happened to me twice.

I usually go in with the intention to main tank, but I'll always click on the other two tanks first to see if they're in tank stance. If one of them is, I'll take that as a sign that they want to MT and switch to DPS stance. (Although more often than not, that guy eats it early on and I wind up becoming defacto MT for the rest of the raid)

It should be matter of courtesy and respect (YES I KNOW). If you see the other tank is standing right in front of the boss, ahead of everyone else and/or they started their countdown, may as well let them pull and move yourself into OT stance. You're more useful dealing damage than fightning for aggro, so the healers KNOW who the hell the have to heal. However, if that situation won't happen, like Beckett say, check what the other tank's stance is. It usually hints you what their intentions are. Although sometimes they have no intention to MT, yet they remain on tanking stance. You wait for a solid minute and nothing happens. Force a ready check and/or a countdown to see if they react, if not... You must call them out (Kindly ask them to get on DPS stance) and pull.

Well that depends on the duty really. If it's Lv50 then WAR doesn't have Deliverance yet and they just want to throw up a stance. Doesn't help that BB combo has a total of 20 extra potency on SE and SP combos. At that point I will either compete with those WARs or tell them to not use a stance at all so they have better DPS and don't make me have to use enmity combo more than I need to.

P.S. If a seasoned WAR does this then shame on them :|
