With regards to the ASCII characters, as far as I can tell, they implemented Unicode in it's entirety. This is hardly surprising given the Japanese basis for the game and thus the need to allow the use of kanji. No one is going to sue SE because RMT are advertising, whereas they might if people start playing copyrighted works and posting them.
