Let’s Play a Game: It could be worse. Tales to make you cringe.

So I just had two dungeons in a row where people were like “NO! i didn’t want this dungeon!” I find Sastasha the most boring dungeon - as a healer I get two attacks and nothing but heals. Other people hate The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak - that maze where if someone forgets to pick up the green orbs we all gotta go running back through it. To try to cheer people up - and to entertain myself - I started talking about what would be the worse case scenario. Basically started a contest over who could come up with the best cringe worthy scenario. I find it comedic relief really.

Before it is said, all of these scenarios are just sarcastic remarks of how the dungeon could be something to complain about. This is a game to see who can come up with the worse case scenario and get the most cringes. Sometimes, you just gotta remind yourself the situation could be MUCH much worse and be thankful it isn’t. All of these scenarios are just fictional, funny ideas of how a dungeon could go wrong.

So this game is called: It Could Be Worse. Set the stage, the roles, and what goes terribly wrong. In any dungeon, instance, fate, or hunt. All stories should be fictional.

    I’ll start:

You do duty roulette and you are a DPS. After an hour of waiting, you end up in The Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak. You sigh and continue on - not complaining until you realize all of the players with you are green leafs who rushed through the previous content. The tank doesn’t know how to hold aggro, the healer didn’t put esuna on their bar, and the other DPS decided to run past all the fleshy pods just for fun. This is after you all had to run back and forth trying to find all the green orbs to escape the dungeon. You attempt to explain the dungeon, but by the time you all succeed and get out it has been a whole hour.

Remember this next time you pull Toto-Rak. It could be worse.

I'll try to play the game!
(made this up in 5 seconds I know it's bad)

"You decide to do your leveling roulette for the day, sighing as you push the button, everyday was exactly the same. You get Sastasha, copperbell, or Toto rak- no variety no nothing. You force a smile, maybe today will be better? Be the day where you dont get one of these dungeons and can actually let your skills shine.
After 30 minutes of waiting as a dps you finally enter the dungeon and that fake smile is gone as want to slam your face on your keyboard. In big bold letters shines Sastasha.

You look at the group to see a sprout archer in below average gear, an average tank who is completely silent, and a healer who is a mentor.
Your mind must be messing with you because you think for a split second- the run would go okay. But you were completely wrong.

Right off the bat the archer pulls all the mobs- running in circles trying to avoid being hit, you notice the tank unable to get aggro back and the healer doing damage. You watch your fellow players closely as you feel yourself getting more and more annoyed. The tank was not using his enmity combo, you quickly type in chat only to get ignored. The archer goes flying by with a string of enemies trailing him and you see in chat:

Insults about how bad the party is from the healer as the tank dies after managing to finally get aggro.

At the final boss- after somehow surviving an hour of all this, the healer letting the tank die multiple times, and the flying archer who should be screaming "gotta go fast" as he sprints like a psycho-the boss is finally down. (Only after almost being killed by the adds- of course you were the only one who tried to do the mechanics)

You see in chat more insults from the healer- calling out the tank for not going fast enough and the dps for not going good enough. All while praising himself as the best healer ever. You resist the urge to type something that would make him run home crying in the chat and just leave- maybe because you tried to help everyone and did your job you'd get a comm.

    Nope not one"

    It could be worse.

You could be doing a large scale fate and get the boss to 3% health only to have most of your party d/c. You accidentally step over the fate line, leaving one only person with the lowest health to die and the boss health resets, leaving you speechless.

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

You roll a 98 on a primal bird. The Bard who has been dead for most of the fight for failing every mechanic possible rolls a 99 and wins it.

Unfortunately I didn't have to make this up, happened to my boyfriend in Nidhogg EX, and this happened when the fight had recently been released so no nerf to drop rate yet, no totem turn in yet, content still at highest difficulty.

I don't know if "cringe" is even a strong enough word for it. I would say more like "soul destroying" or a definite cause for table flipping.

You get an easy trial or dungeon in duty roullete as healer and get a tank who won't hold aggro, won't use any stance, and won't aoe, and the dps are doing less damage than he is. you die many times.

    Rival Wings:

You queue up, remind the party to focus the generator, gain control of the middle. Everything is looking good. Match begins and half your party takes the longest route towards the generator. Enemy get's there first and demolishes your team. They get an oppressor advancing towards one of your towers. Team B manages to get enough CE to get a bot as well. They to picked and launch an oppressor while heading off into the same direction as the enemy oppressor and begins to launch missiles at them... The friendly Oppressor dies due to lack of support and everyone more is focused on reclaiming the generator rather than taking out the enemy Oppressor. Your team fails to claim the generator. The enemy Oppressor eventually dies but another one is slowly approaching your second tower. Somebody jumps inside the Brute Justice. However, instead of focus firing their Oppressor they focus the enemy chasers instead. Enemy destroys your second tower. At this point, a part of your team is sitting back in the base begging for you guys to let them have the tower and give up. Some are arguing back calling them poor sports and telling them to just leave if they don't wanna play. An argument breaks out. The game however continues on and your team manages to take our one of their towers, but both of your Brutes died while making the attempt. Enemy brute comes into the field and perfectly escorts your enemy Oppressors all the way to your core on the north path. You glance at your mini map and wonder what your team is doing and you noticed that instead of defending the core, a portion of your alliance is trying to reclaim the generator while another portion is escorting a friendly Oppressor south... the remaining enemy tower is north... Game ends. Alliance rages in the chat. You requeue upset and disappointed. Get an insta pop, take a look at your new teammates and quickly realize it's the same faces but arranged into different alliances...
