The majority of active players do not post on this forum. You are only seeing posts and thoughts from a couple dozen people tops. I'm sure there's plenty of people who want Goobues, but there's also plenty that would prefer other mounts or for SE to spend time on some other content right now.

This is a lot like people who complain about things that offend them on certain TV channels.... apparently the free will to not engage in activities you find distateful up on your high chocobo (because a horse or goobue would break immersion) is in short supply these days.
P.S. to the people who say even seeing them will ruin their fun... I can't wait to vision-rape your fun with my goobue mount.
Not just 5 people. http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...hem-%28Poll%29
OH what about scrapping open world dungeons? Just because a few people like instances better..... come on...
Also what he said ^

I personally wanted the ahriman, but this is more.... appropriate for my galkan physique.
I hope these special mounts stay as an exclusive trophy for the pre-2.0 populace though.

I like how the goobue as a mount is "less immersive" than magitek armor. They've both only been in 1 game in the series so far. Somehow regular adventurers getting ahold of what is likely to be a top secret/high class enemy weapon is more believable than taming a wild animal.

Magitek has been in a few games -- Goobbues have only been in XI in this form. I believe the "less immersive" argument is because it makes no sense that adventures can just up and ride random enemies that isn't due to their profession -- an adventurer stumbling upon Magitek makes more sense because in FF games you almost always "stumbled" upon enemy technology and acquired it, i.e Highwind, The Invincible etc.I like how the goobue as a mount is "less immersive" than magitek armor. So cool but I can imagine the lag now! :3
