Yes. You can take your friends or just someone who needs them to all the currents. Fun fact: in Yanxia you can fly THROUGH the barrier with someone who hasn't completed that part of the story yet and get them all the points on the other side.

I take FC members around all the time to "discover" new maps. Yes you can be passenger no matter your level. You just have to be in a party with the driver.

All aether currents are located in the southern part of Yanxia though. You can unlock flying during your first visit there. Getting carried through the barrier only lets you access the aetheryte on that side earlier.

Isn't there one current that is locked behind story you need to do in the north end?

Erm, ya sure? As far as I know anyway, the aetheryte is locked behind MSQ, not by being able to access the area.

Friend and I were talking over PS chat about this...what about if you aren't attuned to an aetheryte on that map? We will be testing it sometime soon for science....even if someone already knows the answer because science!

I want to try this in the Dravanian Hinterlands, since it technically has no Aetheryte.
