Why is Lyse's outfit not dyeable?

I feel like being able to dye NPC clothes has been the #1 complaint since they started showing up in the Mogstation (being overpriced doesn't belong to the dev team, afaik).

If it was able to be dyed, like most of the Veteran outfits and Mog dresses, it would have been a day-1-purchase for me.

Like I said in the other thread, I'm clueless about it too. It's a generic outfit, not a uniform per se. It costs about the same than most people's subs and, I think, that they should at least put some effort into it.

Because they can. They know that people will buy those outfits, even if its not dyable, so why spend time, when instead you can release a subpar item and still get $$$$$$$$$. The only way those outfits get released with a dyable version is to not buy them, if people dont buy them, SE will need to take another course.

Yea i was really hoping this was going to be dyeable because my character has red Skin she doesn't look right in a red outfit it not being dyeable kinda sucks

Yeah, I guess it's wishful thinking that complaining every time they release them as non-dyeable will actually get them to change their mind. The only thing I can imagine stopping them is the fact the NPC gear includes a lot more detail compared to the all the dresses we have, which are mostly large, blank, detail-less cloths.

I'm not even sure how much this holds up tbh, Y'shtola's new outfit is largely one solid color, with a couple small highlights. Lyse's vest is straight up just a solid, ordinary red. Stuff like High Allagan gear is easily more detailed than that.
