Stormblood Cross-class skills lvl 54?

Hi everyone
So I heard that to be a good crafter in any xlass, you need to be at least level 50 in all Crafting classes for the cross class skills.
How ever, I notice that in game, the cross class skills are at level 15, 37, 50, and 54.

Did Square Enix increase the last cross class skill requirement in Stormblood from level 50 to level 54?

And does that mean that now I have to level all Crafting Classes to level 54 at least?

There was a new cross class skill added for 54, but a lot of the needed cross class skills now have alternatives that can be used instead. If you want to be a decent crafter you can get by with less leveled than you used to be able to. However, if you really want to be good at crafting, you'll want them all leveled to max so you can craft your own materials and so you can craft a wider variety of stuff.

The 54 skills were adopted to compensate for 60 as cap. Mostly Muscle Memory. You don't need them to level all classes to 60. As suggested keeping with Omni class crafting is still the way to go but after 50 you are doing it to make cross class parts. All required future skills will come from class versions of the same thing. 50 to 70 you need to have kept up or go back and do the class quests for each class. Current 'end game' uses skills you only get from class quest rewards.

There is no such thing as a "requirement" now with cross class skills, since most of the old "essential cross class skills" now has a CP-version as alternative that is acquired simply by leveling any class between lvl 60 and 70. However, there are a few cross class skills without alternative, especially a few that involve increasing the progress bar, including Ingenuity (BSM lvl 15), Ingenuity II (BSM lvl 50) and Piece by Piece (ARM lvl 50). As for other cross class skills that doesn't involve progress, Byregot's Blessing (CRP lvl 50) is still a pretty much go-to skill most of the times. And Comfort Zone (ALC lvl 50) is still being utilized in almost everything we craft. Innovation (GSM lvl 50) isn't essential, but it is still very commonly used in nearly everything just to "give that extra kick". As for 54 cross class skills, there are only two of them that are still being widely utilized to date. They are Maker's Mark (lvl 54 GSM) and Muscle Memory (lvl 54 CUL). Even these are not "required". But they are definitely helpful before you have acquired your final BiS gear set.

There is, however, nothing to stop you from leveling everything to 70, as being an omni-crafter really provides quite a bit of convenience on so many different things...
