Return of the Bull- How Did Anyone Beat it?

I was afraid when i saw the Class battle Return of the Bull had special actions that it would be as bad as it was. It is unbeatable .....and ya it is a cool idea but it goes beyond nuts. and no i am not a novice. been in the game since day 1, but i really hate quirky flashy stuff like this.

anyone have tips? and ya i know it is an AOE so you dont have to target and ya i moved all over the place and tried lots of stragies but at the end when she released hordes of them there is no way on earth to get them all.

any clues?

i am really sad about this, for the story has been great but why do they try such bizarre twists when it just is frustrating as all heck for dediecated players who want to enjoy the story? i can see this being fine in a high level raid or dungeon that you can CHOOSE to suffer thru

nuff said, and if you feel like posting "stop whining" please move on and do it somewhere else, i welcome sincere replies and help. but not trolling.

And btw, i am a lvl 70 Bard expipment is around 315, i cant figure out how to update my avatar on this board yet. Havent been a glad in years.

I failed this one few times aswell, but as you keep failing you start to understand it and learn from it and beat it.

- At first when its you and Arenvald, try to stay away from his side, grab the aeatherballs on your side and if you notice that one slips past him, run and AoE it.
- The second part is the one where people fail, after you break free from her bind, AoE as many, always protect those that do not have the Echo first. This part is a game of anticipation and reaction.
- When one of the character cast a shield, stay in it.
- Just remember to let the NPC AoE their side of the field while you do yours, but beware the NPC have slow reaction, so always keep an eye on them.

Untill SE nerfs or changes this fight, the only thing that you can do is do your best, learn and repeat if you fail the fight.

Put the duty action on a button you can use while moving so you can hit it while moving and waste less time. Use sprint when they start spawning fast, stay closer to the top where they spawn, get the ones that spawn first, hit them in clusters (stand in the middle between two lines to hit things on both lines at the same time). Prioritize ones that are closer to NPCs. That's about it.

When she goes crazy that is the final part, as long as you get some of them and don't insta lose it ends a bit after that.

I had trouble at first but then I noticed you can move while pressing the button which means you can just spam it while you run.

Man they better not nerf it. It is a fun fight. Kinda sad its a one time only fight.

For tips on how to beat it... I'll assume you use a controller beings you dread the duty action button so bind that to something. Next zoom out and take note of the radius of your blast when you use the button. Then its a simple matter of playing Missile Command until the combat phase. There just stay out of the fire, and get under the shield when it pops up.

Was this the Lakshmi fight? If so I cleared that one first try as Ninja. It's basically one of those fights where you need to prioritize helping NPCs over all-out DPSing. Of course, you get your chance to all-out DPS in the end

Beat it 1st try, with a controller... while the ability was still locked to whatever button the game auto sets duty actions to (which is aparently R3, right analog stick click, when L2 or R2 are also pressed). How I did it I can't say for sure aside from I prioritized any orbs that got past Echo-user NPC's above all & to be fair if my memory is still right I, outa fear of a loss, used Sprint right before "She" arrived to help (felt like smooth sailing for me after as long as I keep to my previously mentioned rule)

Honestly only advice I can give is: stay mobile, & play ur craziest game of "Tower Defence" ever... & maybe bind the Duty action key to something easy to press while moving

When she releases a lot of them, look for when they intercept and then detonate. If you've played the old arcade game Missile Command, it's essentially that.

One-shotted. Move while using the action and watch for where they overlap. Pretend it's Space Invaders.
