    INT working as intended.

Tests were done on Spindiggles, there were no resists, and everything was combo'd

    First gear set, 261 INT & 451 M.Pot

    Parse

    Thunder average 593.47
    Thundara average 1104.94
    Thundaga average 1314.90

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    Second gear set, 261 INT & 494 M.Pot

    Parse

    Thunder average 643.47 8% increase
    Thundara average 1131.79 3% increase
    Thundaga average 1419.67 8% increase

    -------------------------------------------------------------------

    Third gear set, 362 INT & 489 M.Pot

    Parse

    Thunder average 726.64 12% increase
    Thundara average 1487.89 31% increase
    Thundaga average 1661.80 17% increase

    Conclusions:
    • Looking at third parser, Thundara (Thundara also have 'increased damage' effect in the combo bonus) received the major boost from INT, while receiving next to nothing from magic potency. This leads me to believe combo's damage modifier/formula highly relies on your stats especially the one that has 'increased damage' bonus.
    • 40 extra magic potency which comes from Hexa Mask and Ifrit's Cudgel increased a very little amount in terms of damage, will devs look into this? because this would render Ifrit's Cudgel usefulness next to none when a single INT Lightning Brand will outdamage it far beyond.

p.s stats does work. (INT at least :P)

Math is dumb. I'm going to just sit here and keep complaining!

    (Nice job testing this stuff!)

Unfortunately your parse includes crits, specifically the int parse has 25% crits on thundara vs 0% in the mpot tests.

You don't have to exclude criticals when evaluating the impact of an attribute on skill damage. But you should do each test at least 500 times to minimize the randomness from criticals <.<

Ya hopefully the volume of tests done would drown out the spikes from crits to an acceptable level. In any event, while the data presented might not be done in keeping with the strictest scientific methods (or methods that are satisfactory for the academic community on these forums, all of them being PhDs in MMO Maths) it still illustrates and reinforces, even if in a limited fashion, the notion that INT and the damage one does are positively correlated per what SE said about the stat.

Thank you to the OP for taking the time to post your results and conclusions.

Could that possibly suggest that INT modifies crit rate for magic damage?

You should run the test vs different level mobs.

    You vs a 50 mob
    You vs a 55 mob
    You vs a 60 mob

I would also not use lightning modifying gear and either run enough samples to negate criticals or toss them out all together.

Still nice results and thanks for the contribution.

    To the comments about crits:

If you consider crits a problem in this test, just look at the crit damage, which is calculated separately. You will obtain roughly the same numbers in % increase dmg.

Yes, numbers will roughly the same for crit, Thunder/Thundara crits will always be around 30% more from the average.

Thundaga is a bit tricky because it has 'increased critical damage' in combo bonus, seems to be 60% more from the average Thundaga, no idea yet if INT increases the critical bonus.

I'm glad INT is better. I hope they don't fix the Mask or the Cudgel. Please don't change a thing with stats!
