How do you "uninstall" the DirectX? In Windows10 they come as a unique package and I can't touch them at all, I tried to download the webinstaller from Microsoft and the result was that my DirectX are up-to-date and correctly installed, no option to remove or repair them. Care to elaborate the process?

Simple terms is using a system restore point for it and is safest route or search online for videos if you don't want to do it through restoration point. How do you "uninstall" the DirectX? The problem is I can't do it via restoration point, or it will revert the Windows Update back, thus resolving the issue in itself, and representing it when I do the update again!https://www.wikihow.com/Uninstall-Directx try this. Also, the 2nd method explained in that guide isn't doable either because as I said, in the DirectX installer made by Windows, you have no way to uninstall/repair the DirectX, it will simply update them if they're old or if there is any error detected (and there are none). :/
Also, I would like to add that the other games I have installed run perfectly fine even after the Windows Update, no issues at all, FFXIV only.![]()
Odd I was getting same error on Battlefront2 and FFXIV, after I did this everything is running fine. Unless you have something conflicting with your system. Sorry was not much help just said what worked for me. Good luck. By the way are you using steam version or regular? I use regular and try to stay away from steam. Seems they have some issues as of late. The problem is I can't do it via restoration point, or it will revert the Windows Update back, thus resolving the issue in itself, and representing it when I do the update again!

Are you under Windows10 too? How did you "uninstall" the DirectX?Odd I was getting same error on Battlefront2 and FFXIV, after I did this everything is running fine. If you used the Restore Point method, sadly that can't be done for me, it will just remove the last Windows Update and reinstall it again the next time I update my system (I tried it already) giving the same error again.
I'm using the regular version of the game, no steam attached, I've been reading that the game behaves badly with overlays so I tried to stay away from Steam (also, I bought the game during a SE discount).
Honestly, I tried everything and with FFXIV being the only game on my PC facing this issue, makes me even more confused.
Game mode is off! Same result, I can't play in DirectX11 as I've been doing before this WindowsUpdate.![]()
Windows 10 Pro 64bit. Not sure what to tell you then. Other choice is to revert to Direct X 9 manually and re updated to 11. The only other thing I can think of is if your driver and settings are clashing with the system after the update or your port might be a bit damaged or worn. Do you use HDMI or Display port? I had a few crashes do to direct X on HDMI, I switched to Display port and it just happened to me with that "A fatal DirectX error has occurred (10000000)". After I did the update again works fine. You could try that as well. Are you under Windows10 too? How did you "uninstall" the DirectX?
