Posting a picture / image on this forum

Hello everyone.

So kind of a dumb question but...how do you post an image on this forum ?

I've been trying to show my character card in my signature or posting a picture of my character in the "Show your Miqo'te" using the "insert image" button but they never seem to appear and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.

Here I'm trying to post my character card but the preview gives nothing :



I tried to look for a thread that would help me on this matter but came up with nothing unfortunately.
If there is a thread like this that already exists then I apologize in advance for not looking long enough (also I didn't know where to create this thread. I though that the New Player Help section would be the best place.)

It looks like the image you want to post needs to be uploaded to a web server; you cannot upload it directly from your computer to the forums. So if the "character card" you speak of is a file on your own computer, you'll need to upload it somewhere first. If it's already online somewhere, then giving us the URL will be a good start.

You can also use the Lodestone's blog feature to upload an image that you can then use on the forums:

I uploaded it first on a website called hosting pics (which is french) and copy-pasted the link in order to post the picture. But to make things easier I uploaded on imgur, here's the link : https://imgur.com/a/LsRlk

But I'll try the blog features. I've been playing the game for 2 years but I'm not very familiar with the forum and the blog yet.

You can display the image directly to the forums by using the "direct link" inside of IMG tags instead of URL tags.

When displaying a particularly large image (a full screen capture, for example) some people like to use HB tags (hide box) to hide it (also useful for spoilers).

But that's the thing. When I try to use the IMG tags with the link from imgur (or from other websites) it doesn't work. But when I use it with the link from the lodestone blog...it works.

I guess I'll have to use the draft I created in my blog from now on.

Yeah, looks like https://discord.gg/uG7tWDd is a web page that contains the picture (which you don't actually want to embed here), whereas https://i.imgur.com/JETh0i3.png is the actual image. (I just right clicked the image on the first page and selected "Copy image address.")
