Well, it's pretty shady. You have no guarantee that the players you may seek to do it with are of a legal age and/or possessed of a stable mind.

It's not particularly hard to make gil in this game, either. I'm sure if you made a thread asking for tips on how to make gil through legitimate means you would receive a lot of sound advice.

Ok really, why drag this into a game with children under 18 everywhere? This is definitely adult content in a non adult environment. You do realize you could be arrested if some kid's mom happens to wander in while you are ERPing with their 14 year old? There is no in game way of knowing how old a player is in real life.

Kinda more along the lines of cybering, though I can see your point. Personally while ERP is something I don't engage in, I do know of at least one individual who has made a fair bit of money selling their writing services to lonely individuals in this game. Insert Balmung joke here.
So long as you know the risks go for it. Like Zarabeth said however, since this game is rated Teen you can get into some nasty situations if you are hired by the wrong person.

A sink requires that the currency leaves the system.
The proposed method would only be moving it around to another player in the system.

You can trade in game goods and services to gil as long as it doesn't harm the game experience of other people or violate real life laws. Selling runs, queues, gathering/crafting services and private ERP in most cases are allowed. ERP'ing with someone you don't know may be illegal depending on the country, age and sex of the participants.

Someone on reddit posted a response from GM that selling ERP for gil doesn't violate anything. Can be even done through PF.
