Internet connectivity has absolutely nothing to do with Frames-Per-Second lag.
This game should never come to the switch.
If you played the PS3 version you would know how limited hardware affects the users experience for this game.
It was unbearable at best. Now for FFXIV team to chain them selves again to inferior hardware would just be laughable at best after dumping the PS3 with Stormblood..
True, but someone playing on PS4 without a frame counter could easily perceive Internet lag as frame skipping/tearing/dropping. I played on a 1 mbps satellite internet connection from launch 2013-mid 2015, they can look very similar at times.
You folks literally have multiple people in this thread telling you that PS4 is not bad at all and that it's totally fine, yet you keep reaffirming that we know nothing and that PS4 is unplayable. Makes it hard to take you serious.
I have played on all, PS3 then a PS4 and now i am on a PS4 Pro.
PS3 was not so problematic like some are saying people are being overdramatic there.
PS4 Pro i have had zero issues at all thus far.
Please no >.<
PS3 limitations were a thing, PS4 limitation are still a thing and now we'll have to deal with Switch limitation ?!
Soon we'll get a mobile version of this game >.<
People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
Dear developers,
Stop trying to port every game to the Switch just because people ask.
Signed,
Players
Ps4 limition is not a thing , PS3 limition was obvious but we have yet to reach ps4 max potential nvm is limit.
You have ZERO evidence, BTW they allot of PC player who playing with computer worse then ps3, let no act like evryone has a good gaming Laptop/PC![]()

They upped the minimum requirements to play this game with Stormblood, so they aren't taking into account weak PCs for game design, it's of no concern to SE if someone uses specs lower than the min required.
I know, but PS4 is NOT limiting FF14 of yet so let no play this limiting blame, at least until ps5 get announce. Then ill be more then happy to bring back all the ps3 meme and change it to ps4, unless we already have in game proof or Yoshida word about ps4 limit.
Uh, no?
If this is what you think then you have no clue as to how a game actually runs.
Here's a hint: The satellite wasn't the problem. It was your hardware.I played on a 1 mbps satellite internet connection from launch 2013-mid 2015, they can look very similar at times.
I'm not saying anything about the PS4 in my last post, I'm talking about any online game on any platform. You folks literally have multiple people in this thread telling you that PS4 is not bad at all and that it's totally fine, yet you keep reaffirming that we know nothing and that PS4 is unplayable. Makes it hard to take you serious.
When you have Internet Latency, you will experience the following:
1). Your abilities not doing what you tell them to do, OR, you use an ability, see the animation, but no damage is done/no healing done until 2-3 seconds later.
2). Everybody around you is standing still for 1-2 seconds at a time and teleporting around.
3). You notice that here's seconds here and there where nothing happens and then another second where a million things happen at once and it tends to be rather loud.
4). You get hit with stuff you weren't anywhere near.
5). You click on NPCs and nothing happens for a second or two.
During all of this, your framerate and visuals should be working absolutely fine. This stuff is done client-side, and you can even be outright disconnecting entirely and the game will continue to function. Want to experiment? Unplug the ethernet cable (assuming you're wired, if not you'll have to unplug your wireless router or something instead) on your hardware while playing the game. You'll have about 10 seconds to experience the effects of a total disconnect.
Note that framerate drops are NOT a part of the problems that you will experience.
