Midlander's my perspective

Hi, I am Zexy Diamond and I have been playing midlander ever since i started playing. I picked the Midlander female because i felt like they were the most beautiful (over all) of the females. Yes, the cats are very pretty and faces are the most beautiful and their eyes are amazing but their tails takes away from their overall beauty. I say this because in our own evolution it is said we had tails but it was naturally selected away because the males preferred the females without tails to breed with. If this is to be true then why don't males, who play our game pick the midlander's to be and watch play? Also i was wondering why the Midlander are portrayed as the most poor of the races on FFXIV? Only Minifilia stands out as true beautiful wealthy midlander all others are poor and destitute.

You should have done more quests then, there are plenty of wealthy midlanders around. You also probably forgot about Rowena. She could buy you and your FC with whatever she's carrying in her pockets at that time.

you are so right i didn't think about Rowena .. problems no I don't get on the novice network unless it's to make an announcement .. mostly i use my alt's to test the waters if they are kicked then i know my main shouldn't log on there.

While I agree that midlander females are very pretty, Au Ra and Miqo'te women have more "desirable" proportions. The cat ears and tails are cute, and also a lot of people want to play something fantastical in a fantasy game.

As for midlander females being portrayed as poor, there are plenty of wealthy hyurs- one of the most powerful and wealthy people in all of Aldenard is Rowena, a female midlander. There are also plenty of other rich midlanders. The reason you might think there are a lot of poor midlanders is because they make up the majority of the population, lore-wise.

I disagree, Miquote can have slightly bigger breasts, but bust size is a matter of proportion, not bigger is better, and butts are kinda smallish across the races.

and I believe it's because we prefer a more simple farm-like lifestyle.

That's your lore! My Midlander is a Gridanian hippie who holds more personal value in tea leaves than Gil, and frowns upon the corruption money causes.

On a side note, many Midlander NPCs are former adventurers turned into whatever it is they are doing now. Rowena being one of them.

Well that's the great thing, theres all kinds of midlanders. I don't think they're particularly more inclined to farm life, one thing mentioned about Hyur is their diverse culture.

Agreed. Of course, I am comparing their living preferences to other races, not other Midlanders. Hyurs are the race with the highest population, and Midlanders has the higher end of the ratio between them and Highlanders, so it only makes sense that there is a lot of diversity amongst them. However, I was also referring mainly to Midlanders situated in Gridania, and my impression of the city/state that holds the highest number of them.

Another thing known about Gridanian Midlanders that doesn't apply to the race as a whole is we are seen as uppity, and generally closed off to anything that isn't willed by the elementals.

Personally I would like to know more about the lala's, Au'Ra's, Miqo'te, even the Roe as they seem to not be "human" hyur are just hyur, elezen aren't known much about but they're just your standard elves. One of these days I need to dig up more lore on those races, beyond what's given in game.
