Midlander's my perspective

What we're saying is she's a midlander in terms of a model, like if you choose a midlander you can make the looks identical to hers, but lore wise she's a Highlander. They didn't change her model from a midlander to a highlander so there in lies the confusion.

Not exactly identical, but closer than a Highlander attempting the same. Minfillia has proportions Midlanders can't obtain using max sliders, but that is literally the only difference.

The major lore reason is likely the fact this is a fantasy game with feudal governments and there is no middle class. Hyur are the most common of all the races so they're more likely to be poor as opposed to other races who often have niche jobs they can do well.

From what I can tell Miqo'te almost never really use Gil unless they're either born outside the clans, left to live among the other races or go adventuring. They merely trade for the things they need or make/hunt it themselves.

My Miqote makes a living by beating the hell out of monsters and stealing their stuff or sometimes someone will recognize her power and achievements so they will pay her to run errands or deliver mail. My Lalafell does pretty much the same thing but takes any gil made and feeds it to her house.

Technically they would be FFXI since they're just based off them, like all of the current races besides Au'Ra.

I say this because in our own evolution it is said we had tails but it was naturally selected away because the males preferred the females without tails to breed with. If this is to be true then why don't males, who play our game pick the midlander's to be and watch play?

I've been wondering. There's been Ala Mhigans in the game that have the Midlander character model. These characters existed after 1.x by the way.
Remember, Ala Mhigo is in a highland region. So does that make them Highlanders or Midlanders?

My thoughts are: the only real difference between Midlanders and Highlanders is where they came from. From what I remember, Highlanders are so beefed up because fighting is in their culture, which is true because that's Ala Mhigo's culture and majority of Highlanders are Ala Mhigan. Still, I think Minfilia and Lyse having Midlander models are still accurate.

If you look, there are multiple characters that are lore-wise one clan but are represented in-game with another clan's model. Minfilia and F'lhaminn are just two that come readily to mind. I generally abide by what lore calls them and take their appearance with a grain of salt. Most likely it was just an oversight of the devs who don't want to go back and fix their models after players are already used to them.
