Can we please do something about this?

I literally just got out of a expert roulette, dungeon was Ala Mhigo. A astro with full 340 gear and a 345 weapon from Omega savage was our healer with.... 9k hp. I figured something was off and decided to approach him about it and apparently got labeled a elitest despite the fact that i made a comment about his gear being completely broken and not the quality of the gear he had. So, I request that the developers implement some kind of failsafe to prevent anyone from queueing for anything unless their gear is completely repaired so they don't end up joining and wasting 3 other people's time. The only reason we even completed it was because i was on my RDM and got paired with another RDM where we spent the entire run alternating dualcast verraises on the healer every 5 seconds and keeping the tank and the rest of the party up by spamming vercures. Please do something about this because the whole being unable to repair your gear unless you have leveled up the corresponding crafter for your armor type/Job is extremely outdated and needs to be re-evaluated. Thank you for your time.

There's already a pop-up message when you queue up with broken gear, so that's on the AST.
If that doesn't work then a swift kick should do the trick, that way next time they go into a dungeon they'll remember to repair.

Yeah, i understand that, but for some people these little warnings clearly don't work. I just wish there was a more concrete way to make it so they can't join groups until their gear is in the proper condition for doing whatever group content they are queueing up for.

how did you talk to the healer? just curious. sometimes people don't realize their gear wears. And yes there is a warning. with speed pull runs i notice gear durability goes down quick.
They might have been on their way to repair the gear when the queue popped.

never know, just confronting people with a "stop wasting 3/7 ppl time" is a e way to handle stuff. you can only speak for yourself.

we have enough fail safe, if the player is being problematic kick them. say "i notice your gear is broken, you able to repair it? if not we can kick you so you can repair it and re-queue"

that way you doing them a favor, and not doing the"stop wasting our time". though if you have standards of play pf is for you.

I literally said word for word, and i quote: "So, going to go out on a limb here and assume your gear is broken heals, with 9k hp and all." word for word exactly how i said it. I only brought up the wasting the groups time when he called me a elitest for no reason. I never said one thing regarding the quality of his gear.

The current system is severely outdated and needs to be brought up to speed with a basic feature most mmo's have nowadays. "That's what vote to kick is for" should not be the go to solution every single time.

It is possible to repair gear mid-dungeon, if you have a high enough crafting level and carry dark matter. Either way, the Healer was careless. I've been in that case myself though so I know how it is, although my situation was Castrum Meridianum, and long before the implementation of the warning pop-up. Sometimes people just forget to repair, which was what happened to me. But now we do have the means to know when gear is wearing down, which will keep us from forgetting to check our gear and letting it break, so it isn't for Square Enix to throw us more bones in this regard. Players need to take responsibility when it comes to things like this, and failure to do so really has no excuse, especially now.

What is needed, in addition to the onscreen warning (which is maybe a bit too low a percentage), is to prevent queuing in anything other than a pre-made party if you have any item with less than 25% durability remaining. That way those who are pushing for firsts & progression in pre-made parties can happily enter duties with near-broken gear but the rest of us don't have to suffer tanks that can't take an auto-attack or healers who heal for less than a Summoner.

The warning/prevention message should clearly state that the player needs to either self-repair or go to the nearest mender before they continue or are allowed to requeue (depending on the message received). It's clear that some elements of the community *DO* need handholding & a small onscreen message is hardly detrimental to the gaming experience. After all, if you keep your gear in good condition then you'd never see the message anyway!

It's also quite possible the AST knew exactly what they were doing and either wanted to try some ridiculous challenge or were basically trolling. I say this as I've come across a couple of players that purposely went on in some SB duties with their base class. No joke, try beating Susano when your WHM seems to think it's cool to do it as CNJ. Yes eventually we kicked them but we didn't notice right away once the heals were less frequent and the co-healer was running out of mp like nobodies business to pick up the slack.

Perhaps there should be percentage requirement of your gear before players are allowed to enter, maybe 30% or 40% and anything less the player needs to repair before they can queue.
