bard performance "rant"

They won't remove it. Other MMOs have this and had no copyright issues. Hell they don't even bother to action people who do use 3rd party songs, despite disclaimers saying they would. I doubt SE would either. It would take effort away from protecting people from parses.

That's irrelevant. They don't have the resources nor the manpower to police this. The statement is a 'Cover our Rear' measure at best.

Could you imagine that? A GM having to listen to everyone playing around and try to recognize a 3rd party song? Not gonna happen. And if the GM's are Japanese themselves.. well.. their ability to recognize western songs is going to be limited.

Most GM are from the same country as the main server , when some of them quit GM job , they keep playing the game normally , hell you be surprise how many GM have normal game character (with out power off curse).

Curious about the wording of record and share songs, does that mean they dont care what you play so long as you dont record it?

I haven't been in world yet to hear any of it, but I'm excited to. I actually just started leveling up Archer last week to try out Bard, not really realizing this sort of upgrade was coming to the class.

It's something new and shiny for people to play with; give it time and it'll slowly wane and dissipate. Let people enjoy themselves and if it bothers you that much, then turn off other sounds or blacklist them until such time that it fades away.

I do agree that we should have the option of turning it off ourselves because even if it tones down, there's still always going to be some people that just spam it when they have nothing better to do and I don't think having to turn off all sounds for other pcs should be the permanent solution to it. I agree it's a temporary one and that it should be used for now, but I do think the option in the future would be nice and IF it's easy enough to implement, then there is no reason why they shouldn't just give people the option. They've done it with other things, no reason not to here. It's not like it's turning it off for everyone. With that being said if for any reason it's actually not a simple way to do it then yeah, it's not that big of a deal to put too much time into but if it's easy enough, no reason not to.

Could it work to connect an USB-Piano-Keyboard with the PC and use these additional keys to bind them with the right notes? Has anybody tried that out yet? I have nothing like that and never used an piano-keyboard so sorry if this question seems stupid. I'm just curious.

Supposedly folks have been doing this, yes, though I haven't tried it myself.

Sigh..... bard performance is cool and all but there is one fatal flaw that was forgotten in the patch and this one

An OPTION in settings to turn off performances from other players

Its annoying to be going to lominsa and got several bard plucking at there harps

So please SE make optional setting for other players who do not want to listen to bards performance
