If you don't enjoy interactions from other people I suggest you play a single player game.

Offering advice if someone is struggling is not harassment, and to immediately take a defensive stance and claim them as elitist says more about you than them.

No one has to accept Advice if you think they should then you should take this post as some advice.
Again, it's damned if you do, damned if you don't. A lot of people complain about the silent mentors. Well, did they ever think perhaps they're silent because of people like the OP?

No. If you're doing something obviously incorrectly (read: detrimental to party progression or causing others to work harder JUST to complete content) I will politely suggest an improvement as long as I have experience and confidence that my suggestion is helpful.
It's up to you to take the advice or reply with a reason you are doing things the way you are.

I submit that if you are CONSTANTLY being told certain things, perhaps it isn't the others who have a problem?

Imo advice/constructive criticism given politely is a good thing. I would be welcoming to any pointers or tips someone had for me if they noticed I could be doing something better, but there is definitely a difference between offering tips or giving someone concrete advice on what they can do to improve and not really being helpful and bordering on rude. For example, I was in a low level dungeon earlier with a healer who was just constantly nattering at the tank throughout the instance saying things like "You sure take a lot of damage" and "you really make me word hard at healing... just saying." Now, obviously that's not super terrible or anything, but it's also not helpful. So yeah, I'd say tips welcome, incessant complaints with no solutions not that helpful.

please don't take this the wrong way but, part of learning is listening and not just self-study and experimentation. it is why people go to school/college/uni because you can never learn everything on your own you need some form of external guidance and that's what other people here want you to realise. people will give you advice if they feel that you are not playing well within the average performance, as long as they do so nicely and politely, there is no harm and there is no shame in being the receiving end of the advice. people who do care or bother to teach you do not demand you to perform like world first/hardcore raiders, they just want you to play at your very best and it's not only for you - it is for your teammates also because this is a multi-player and social game

I feel like this is a troll post...if so, then I guess I'm feeding the troll. If not...well, let's test to see how thick skinned you really are. So basically, you're saying you are getting mad because you are getting advise in an MMO. You know, in dungeons, with 3 other players, or up to 7 if you're doing one of the trials. Are you kidding me? So, what, if you're not doing something that helps you be more proficient at the job you have chosen, any advise that is given to you is unwanted and you'll either ignore it or quit?

Oh wait, but you said you wanted to have fun, right? You want to play this game the way you want to play it, right? So that 3-7 other players can suffer because you didn't want to take advise, which was probably well-intended in the first place. I have an awesome idea - if you want to be selfish and do that, then go play a single-player game. I am sorry to be harsh, but this is just purely selfish on your part. If the advise is given in a constructive manner and well-intended, it's meant to help you improve as a player. If you don't want advice, especially in instances where you are playing terribly, then don't queue up in dungeons and have other players suffer because you want to be selfish.

Stay in the open world, do your MSQ and stick to hunts and whatever solo content you want. But don't queue up as a level 70 and expect players to not give you advice, especially when a lot of them currently know what should and should not be done, and what does and doesn't work as a team. Seriously.

Like, this post legit annoyed me.

Maybe stick to solo content if you want to do everything on your own.

There's only one problem with the MSQ... you're required to do multiplayer duties as part of it. And to access a lot of content for other classes too, you have to do MSQ... in essence, it's a case of either adapt, stick to premades who don't mind covering the lost ground, or quit the game. It's not as simple as just do MSQ.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
