If this is a troll post it's really not helping. If this is a genuine post, why do you have issues with people trying to give you advice to improve not only your own experience but the experience of anyone you might wind up grouped with in the future? I swear this game is notoriously bad for having people who take offense at being given advice and it's one of the negatives I have to warn any potential friends joining the game about. It's the people who rip people's heads off over offering some simple advice that make the community look bad, not these so called "elitists".

Please do not listen to this request!
Instead try to give advice in a respectful manner - or ask beforehand if said advice is welcome. If someone doesnt know how to play their classes and refuses to listen to some (respectful presented) advice, feel free to blacklist them and pray that you'll never have to deal with them again.
Giving geniue advice has nothing to do with elitism but with offering help to someone to improve themself - if you dont care for improving yourself, please stick to premade-groups or single-player games only. Not knowing how to play and ignore advice is pretty rude and you're making yourself a burden for the rest of the playerbase.

In my experience, people don't give advice unsolicited in any content outside of extreme primals/savage unless something is seriously wrong and very noticeable. Perhaps you just ran into an eager mentor looking to help you out, but it could also be that you didn't learn as much as you thought you did leveling to 70..

I main SAM but I have PLD to 70. If we're having issues with DPS and I'm not seeing Higanbana, best believe I'm calling you on the carpet.

If I see someone struggling, it's part of my nature to try to help them. Whether they apply the advice I give, we'll that's their choice and at the end of the day I can say that at least I tried. I don't agree with your request or your false assessment of what constitutes elitism. Cheers.

Some things about this game you can only learn if others take the time to tell you.

So you are saying WE NEED to play good, but you have to get away? How is that elitist when we simply ask you to click more buttons or is it hard to believe they are clickable? If someone is giving you advice you dont take it as harrasment, you actually have people trying to make you better or is it hard trying to get help and advice from people? wow...
