Hopes for the 4.2 Glamour System Revisions

Okay since more informations came out after I posted my opinions I will delete the old one.

It seems that according to someone that understands Japanese they did say that the old system would still be in place, that you can have multiple glamours on role-shared gear and that you somehow can still retrieve items that you put there. Well if that is true this would at least put some of my concerns to rest. Still hope that they will increase the limit over time.

Also according to the official translation:
You can make ensembles of specific parts of a set of gear, and also apply regular glamours as usual.


That sounds like you can use both systems for one glamour set. d^^b

So my only negative point that still remains is the limit of 200 but I really hope that they will increase that.

Can you think of anything you would need as actual gear again that you use to glamour?

Yes, unless they release future new jobs at level 60 and not 50 anymore. I don't know about you but there's some content I'd like to not raid farm spam, again, for the same piece I already had and can no longer use because a glamour prism ate it.

I honestly can't think of anything I NEEDED for leveling a job that I couldn't reproduce with crafting and/or a couple thousand gil on the marketboards. The ONLY reason I've ever farmed a piece of gear in particular is for it's appearance. 50-60 I used ironworks gear (grabbed a few dungeon pieces on the way) , 60-70 I used shire gear. leveling up for me was never a matter of min-maxing, I always looked like someone dressing themselves out of a costume chest at random for things that just filled the slot till the next level step but I never was lacking in performance in any particular leveling up activity.

I'm actually not saying you'll never want to, i'm saying I can't think of any pieces that were dire to my leveling experience or if they were they were ugly as sin and I only wore them for the stats and therefor would never glamour toilet them... (I'm totally calling it that from now on)

I'm somewhat confused.
"Certain items, such as those that can be stored in armoires, cannot be converted to glamours."
So does that mean I can still glamour them the oldfashioned way or did they just remove those glamour options entirely?

I certainly hope that items stored in the armoire automatically show up in the commode list.

... huh.. Until today I thought commode was synonymous with toilet. Apparently it's also like "dresser". Thank you weird translations for educating me today.

While I find it annoying that a word that only means toilet to me is being used, the bigger problem I have is that it's already called a dresser in japanese. There was no need to use a different word.

For example, the armoire is only called that in the english version, and I think multiple times when Yoshi has been asked questions about expanding the armoire to hold more items the question has been mistranslated or misinterpreted to mean adding more space to the armoury chest. So there could easily be another time in the future when Yoshi gets asked about expanding the commode and he doesn't know what that is because it's not called that in japanese and ends up thinking we want expanded communication modes or something.

If the posts are true that you are able to glamour gear pieces for multiple jobs within the same role, as well as remove items from the dresser then most of the issues are alleviated. That being said, 200 is a very low capacity and should be touched on sooner rather than later.

huh, didn't know that. That'll actually affect future suggestions or questions I post since the vernacular may be different for arbitrary reasons.

A commode is any of several pieces of furniture. The word commode comes from the French word for "convenient" or "suitable", which in turn comes from the Latin adjective commodus, with similar meanings.

Try glamouring a relevant relic onto your tome/raid weapon. You can always get a glamour version when you upgrade to the next stage- well, not if it got flush down the glamour toilet. Have fun re-farming your relic again. That or wait for months til the next stage's release before you can glamour place the current stage of the relic into the glamour toilet.

I believe the current words on the street is that you can remove the glamour items out from the glamour toilet, and I hope they are right. Items being consumed in order to be added into a glamour log has and will always be a ridiculously stupid idea.

Afaik the old glam system is still in place. You can use prisms to make your weapon look like the relic without flushing it, and then flush the glam version later.
