It beat the smoke out of FFXIV's, that's for sure, and it's one a lot of people here are familiar with, and probably a fair 'baseline' for loot system mechanics. I wouldn't object to something more 'modern' or what have you, I just have no idea what advances in the great fine art of loot mechanics have been made since I was a young'n. No, seriously, though, it's good to know the loot system is getting a radical overhaul in 2.0; the drop mechanics for the Primal fights are probably one of the only things Yoshida's done that have been an outright mistake, and he was working off an already fairly faulty system. Hopefully in the re-design everything makes more sense and they'll have listened to the players- sounds like that'll be the case.
