I prefer to do things with my friends so because they have something against us being able able to enter with fewer than eight people this happens a lot. But we don't faceroll it. We do stupid things like trying Weeping City with just five <70 players and wiping millions of times, and end up knowing the mechanics better than any fight we did properly. Heck, I still don't know some of the mechanics in dungeons I've run at level half a dozen times, because they don't matter. Conversely I know I was carried through loads of boss fights when I was newer and at the right level because the difficulty is so soft in non-extreme content. As healer main there are a lot of mechanics I can get away with not knowing at all (and some, of course, which I need to know).

There's a lot to be said for the challenge of doing things the hard way compared to clearing Ultima in 15secs and skipping every single phase in EX content. Things like special achievements should require syncing or better (because sync is not very balanced), minimum ilevel, but ultimately if other people want to faceroll the entire game that's their call. I'm not in their party so it doesn't bother me.
