For the same reason people level some of their alts at the beginning of an expansion instead of waiting for exp increases and more efficient ways to level. Because they don't want to wait.
OP started a thread just like this earlier. My guess they didn't appreciate the responses. So they made a new one.
A friend of mine did that too with his rl friend that started the game. He asked me if I want to come with them and when it was time for bosses I sat down and just let them do their thing. He would explain all the important mechanics and show them to him if its possible and after that its a fast kill. We get through the dungeon quite fast and the person still learns the important things.
I did Nidhogg and Thordan unsynch for my first time and will probably kill Zurvan and Sephi that way too. I will always read a guide so I know how it was intended and with only a handful of us there and with us being a bit nooby and love to mess up we have lots of fun and we also see quite the mechanics. (And trying to kill Nidhogg with only five or less people is quite thrilling since you need to react fast to some phases thanks to a lot of mechanics but less people than intended) So kills unsynch can even be harder than synch in some cases.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
wahhhh other people are such jerks for not playing the way I want them to
Depending on how many people you are and how old the content is, even unsynch it can still kill you. And its not like people need to be truly good to do it synch. Have a good group of 7 people and the last person who is new can just be death the whole encounter and still win it. So they might have done it synch but still did not learn a thing.

I agree that there are instances where you can be carried in synced content. However, that is not the norm and shouldn't be treated as such for the sake of discussion. If you clear content synced, you are more likely to have a better understanding of a fight and be better at fights in the future. That is not an inflammatory comment. That is not saying unsynced shouldn't exist. Its just an advantage of doing content when it is relevant or replicating that to the best of your ability after the fact.
"Within each of us, the potential for great power waits to be released."
No i don't hate them because there are players who started playing later!
You don't have to learn the fight because almost no one runs it sync anymore.
SE does that because it makes it easier for new players to get the kill at all..see point before.
The primals are not hard sync. Its just different because you can't just faceroll.
Don't blame the players for a system that SE made and don't blame SE for making it possible for new players to get kills in very old content.
I don't think one specific anecdotal example is enough to enough to disprove the whole "most likely better understanding" claimLIES!!! A former FC member is living proof this is not always the case.
