Do you hate the people who can only play during the quiet hours of the server and need to do it unsync'd if they ever hope to clear it? There's a lot of people who have cleared it and refuse to do it sync'd, so just leave other people alone and hang out with your own clique if you hate others so much for playing differently.

fun is subjective my friend. some people find slamming their heads against a brick wall to be fun, but personally I dont see the enjoyment. you cant expect SE to tailor the game solely to your idea of fun, because that will alienate an extremely large portion of their playerbase which will cost them sub money.

Personally I dont care if people get their first kill on old content unsynced. Ive killed a couple ex primals unsynced as my first kill, mainly because I didnt care to do extreme primals in the first place. Too many people like you who think you are better than everyone else and one minor mistake on a singular pull results in vein bulging anger. I dont find that sort of environment.... fun. I havent been in the mindset of finding content pushes fun for quite a number of years and have become more casual/midcore as Ive gotten older. Which makes me glad that SE likes to try to cater to all ranges of fun rather than going single mindedly towards the small percentage.

You want synced runs, then do synced runs, and Im sure the people killing it unsynced will probably stay in their unsynced runs, leaving you to your synced fun.

I get why it annoys some people but once a new expansion comes out people will forget their optimal rotation on lower levels. Stat weights will change, hotbar setups that were optimized for lower level play will change to work in new skills, and abilities that used to be a necessity will be removed. The majority of guides for content will come out while said content is still current and recommend things like scholar having stoneskin crossclassed or "You need x amount of accuracy to be able to hit x". The game is going to keep changing and adding brand new challenges to make up for older things becoming easier.

I'll agree that people who brag about something being easy when they took the easy way grates a little, but watching them eat humble pie (and floor!) when they find out it isn't is a little satisfying.

Alright, lemme throw my experience with this here. When I first started in FFXIV, the group I went in with could not beat Garuda Normal. This was my first MMO ever, so I didn’t understand that I need both left and right side gear pieces…the only thing I really upgraded was my weapon and chest piece. I was a Monk.

This was March 2017, on Famfrit. Go figure…I’m the only sprout and we couldn’t beat Garuda. That group ended up abandoning after 5 or 6 tries. I don’t even know why because it’s a complete faceroll.

Somebody friendly took me in unsynced and taught me something – mechanics. In five minutes, I learned the whole fight, the importance of keeping my gear up to date, and most especially, how to fight trials. The point is, unsynced has good and bad. Yeah…I do feel like with 8-mans, players should clear it synced before they go after it unsynced, but for players like me, especially DPS who are gated by Titan and Garuda…unsynced can be a good thing if you’re willing to explain how FFXIV trials change after that point.

Regardless…I don’t exactly understand why OP has such a huge issue with it. Players are gonna do whatever they want to do.

Side note: the only other trial that I got the first kill on unsynced with was Mistrel's Ballad: Nidhogg's Rage a few months back...because nobody is doing this fight synced. Doesn't mean we didn't have mechanics - we still wiped once, and most of us were level 70.

It doesn't matter when you can run it unsynced, why would you bother putting time into it when you can run it easier just by waiting a little bit?

Because some people want the challange. UCOB was created for this very purpose, because some people want to test themselves. Not everyone does it for the mounts or glamours. Some people, that's what they play the game for. You're judging the entire playerbase by your own standards and motivations, it's asking to be disappointed. Also, I personally wouldn't called several months to a year or so as being 'a little bit.

This thread is funny, sync and unsync are options that one can freely choose.

If you want to learn the run properly then do the sync run by simply queuing in DF or ask your FC mates to help you to do so!
The unsync version is aimed for those who want to farm for items.
If one made the choice to do unsync on the 1st run then it's their choice.

As nice as it would be if everyone could do old stuff synced first time... there just isn't the demand for it. It could take hours of PF or queuing up for it just to get in if you don't have a group ready to go. And if you queue, odds are you get a couple of mentors who promptly bail as soon as they see an extreme Primal.
