1.21 should be at least this:

Creation of Private Rooms (Inns, etc.)
    Hamlet defense PvE content
The job system (7 jobs plus related quests and gear)
    Personal chocobo gear
    Two new instanced raids

There are other things they have said will come in 1.21 but I haven't kept up a list. If anyone has seen that any of these items have been pulled from the patch please respond. I'm going to assume no news is good news otherwise.

Hopefully that will keep us busy until April/May when we should see Garuda Primal battle and Garlean Empire battle content.

    Shhh let them believe that:

2.0 is merely a graphics overhaul, landscape change and a UI replacement.

Below are the main content additions planned for after version 2.0. New content announcements will be made via patch notes.

    New primal battles.
Summoning system that awards the ability to summon primals to Free Companies that defeat them.
Campaign of battles against the dragon horde in the defense of Ishgard, with participation possible as any of the four Disciplines.
Two forms of PvP, the Coliseum and the Frontlines, to be released sequentially.
Large-scale instanced raids of the Crystal Tower and a vast labyrinth. Further expansions planned for
    future patches.
Wandering Odin primal, who grows in strength and drops greater treasures with each defeat.
Further details on all of the above to be released in the days leading up to version 2.0 release

    Other planned content:

    Additional in-game community options
Free Company establishment, growth, and competition
    In-game delivery and mail systems
    Player housing (estates)
    PvP content
Revamping of the retainer system and markets
Complete redesign of character creation screens and process.
Addition of Miqo'te males, Highland Hyur and Roegadyn females for version 2.0.
Creation of more character customization options (e.g. , hairstyle).
Ability to walk and view character in game environments and use emotes as part of creation process.

New taming ability available to certain jobs and classes after version 2.0.
Release timing of the above abilities is to coincide with addition of new jobs and classes.
Summoned and tamed pets will not count as party members, and will develop over time. Release of a "companion" system for these pet NPCs to fight alongside PCs.
Incapacitation of body parts for boss fights, encouraging party members to focus on single targets for more engaging battles
Examination of a system to introduce legacy FINAL FANTASY items.
Legacy items will have unique graphics and stats.
Obtainable only by players fulfilling certain attribute requirements after first "applying" for them.

Planned for after version 2.0 due to cutscenes requiring retouching as part of overhauls to all in-game maps.
In-game voice in all four languages (Japanese, English, French, and German) after version 2.0.
Seventh Umbral Era storyline to give way to new storyline after version 2.0, and will not be replayable.
Balance and release of crowd control system with firm control of status timers (e.g., sleep, paralysis, blind)
    after stabilization of battle algorithms.
Two PvP venues, Coliseum and Frontlines, to be released after version 2.0. Unique zones to be created so as not to affect non-participating players. Release of PvP-specific abilities, gear, and ranking.
Support for multi-party alliances for large-scale content to be released together with the above.
Basis of new recipes released in patch 1.19. New additions to continue to be made prior to version 2.0.

If you read the notes it is apparent that some of it at least will be after the 2.0 launch.

Leveling and achievements is not my idea of fun content. Its stuff to do yeah but it's not fun...

This game needs more then 2 prime battles for end game. I'm 7/7 on weapons >.> now when I log in I usually end up falling asleep lol. Maybe after the merge and 1.21 it will be more fun lot of good points made in this thread. Meh I guess we got to wait for 2.0 for the good stuff..

Yeah the only thing i do now is log in everyday to get my local leves done, and sometimes fishing leves. Then i see there's not enough ppl on that want to do moogle or even ifrit so i just log off and go play some SWTOR for the rest of the night. SWTOR may feel more like a solo player game than an MMO, but at least it keeps me occupied with tons of stuff to do until i see other players that want to team up for something. I feel like i will never run out of quests to do on that game. I wish XIV was a bit more like that.

    @OP: Other than 2.0

Patch 1.21 will be giving us 7 Jobs (each with 5 quests), 2 Dungeons, Hamlet Defense, private inns, and redone CUl GLD and ALC recipes, and I'm guessing a bit more too.

No offence intended KaiKatzchen as i wasnt referring to any post and i have read all of them on this thred upto this point, im talking about the gamers in general, everyone complained even in FFXI, no matter if we got something 90% liked, it wasnt enough and noone was ok with something, and the other 10% would hate on it.

Most of the "Elite" crews think that having a weapon from doing a boss battle makes you elite, or spending hours upon hours aquiring the hard to get weapons somehow makes you elite, and i admit i had a bunch of endgame weapons/armors for FFXI, but i was nothing if not embarrassed for spending so much time getting them.

I was just saying, focusing only on endgame content is a major drawback i think they devs should consider, they make the hard to get items take years to get, cause they want you to spend your whole life getting it, when i would rather be playing the game.

Content doesnt mean another boss battle every 3 months, and i wanted to make sure and clarify that, content is 20-50 more quests for levels 1-50 every few weeks, till theres so much to do people never can say they are bored.

and honestly, 20 quests in 2 weeks seriously is not asking much, it doesnt take long to script something like that in, do a quest test to make sure all aspects flow through the npcs evenly and submit it to the game servers.

and before anyone says anything, yes i have experience programming my own personal games just for fun, as im sure many other gamers have tried now and then, and i do know the difficulties in getting things to work sometimes.

I also have nothing but respect for the devs and hope they bring this game to fruition truely, as i am a current subscriber and would like to stay so, but thats my main gripe, its been out over a year and started a new character, only to find around 10 total quests in ALL cities, between levels 1-20, yes the game has bugs, but this amount of lack of content astounds me. I too am extreamly excited about the 2.0 plans and am excited to do all the things they talk about. I played FFXI since day 2 of its release and i want to do the same on FFXIV
