[Bug confirmation] Repair their, Take Your Dark Matter

Heya!

I was talking with a pal of mine in Linkshell, and he told me that he tried to repair somebody's gear, but at the end he ended to consume His Dark Matter instead of the client's.
I have heard of this all around, people saying that to repair some equipment for others you need your matter in your pouch, which in the Equip menu is totally differently stated (it says that you need the gil and the dark matter in order for others to repair your equipment).

So... could you please check this out? I can't today because I'm having a RL runaround, so it'd be really appreciated!

never happened to me. Are you sure they weren't repairing someones gear from there bazaar which does require you to use your dark matter.

If the repair is in the normal bazaar, then it uses the crafter's dark matter, but the crafter gets whatever gil or item reward was offered. If someone is setup to have gear repaired when it is equipped, then the repair uses the wearer's dark matter but gets no reward. (IIRC)

I believe that your friend might have mistakenly assumed that all repairs now fall under the second category.

How ever if the repair was done in the new still equipped fashion and it took his dark mater, then yea that's a wee bit of a bug.

Go hit him/her over the head to get all of the facts ren then come back and update.

For now I can say that it at least checks if the other one has the matter. I know that 'cause I always have all matter types on me and still sometimes can't repair someone getting the message that he lacks the appropriate matter. Can't find anyone that needs repair to test right now xD

You are always paid with a fixed amount of gil. 500 gil for a [item=10013005]Grade 5 Dark Matter[/item] repair IIRC.

For clarification purposes:

Option 1: "I'm looking for some repairs and this is what I've decided to pay you for (gil / item). Just BROWSE my bazaar, you'll get the reward providing that you have the dark matter and repair the item."

Option 2: "I'm looking for some repairs on my equipped gear. Just select REPAIR, you don't even have to use your own dark matter. You'll get a fixed amount of gil as reward."

Sorry for not bolding this out there, but I meant the Gear menu's Repair function =)

Sounds like he was using the old repair (you may want to check it for yourself to confirm it), at the moment we have two seperate systems, just like we have Party search and search search.

SE need to stop making so many options for the same thing its becoming a mess.

- Somehow streamline both repair systems into one.
- Remove the party search feature.

A much better way to implement the recent repair system would be to have it so you could flag all red and yellow items in your inventory for repair.

To be honest I like this mix, because I can let people repair Both my equipped gear and things in my Bazaar, and I find this pretty convenient if I should say so =)

Nothin', the thread can die, and I've tested by myself that the Dark Matter using the Gear Repair mode decreases in your bag, not in theirs.
