To clarify what I'm asking, not for zone or area level sync, but to select a member in your party and level sync to their level. So it's fully opt-in.
This would save you from having to form a party to run a fate, level sync to the fate, then drop party so you don't kill their XP while they level/quest in the world.

100% all for it. As a guild leader, many of our new recruits are new players and need the extra help or companionship.

There is precident for this in Final Fantasy. FF XI later added a levelsync feature, that was easy, effective, and optional. It was party-based, and only the party leader could toggle it. Once toggled on, every party member was synced down to the same level as the lowest-leveled member of the party. That was it.

This is exactly what I was thinking. That's one of the features that really helped me enjoy XI too, but as someone who helps a lot of new players in this game, this would end up saving me so much time. I'd add on that, I'd love to have quest sharing, even if there is no reward in it for me, just to be able to see what quest they are working on on the map, mini map, etc.

This was honestly my biggest complaint when ARR launched. XI had levelsync, CoH/V had a sidekick/exemplar system, GW2 had zone-syncing...I was just in shock that ARR only had FATE and instance-syncing. I'd love to see this added, and the quest-sharing idea is a good one, too. CoH/V had it, and it was wonderful.

I did like the old FFXI level sync system, and think it could be useful as long as they keep it optional.

No thanks. I would not enjoy running around old zones being as weak as I was when I was leveling and die cause I get hit off a chococbo.

You misread the suggestion. It's not an automatic, mandatory zone level sync. That's Guild Wars 2. The Levelsync suggested here, and used in FF XI, is optional and user-controlled. The idea is, the party leader has the option to toggle Levelsync on and off. When on, everyone is synced down to the lowest-leveled member in the party.

You already get synced down for fates. Never played XI so i dont get the point about quest sharing.
As for helping others the only thing i want is being able to repair other peoples gear.

It's more apparent when you're helping other players quest through the zone. If you're in a party with them, you cut off their ability to gain xp from fights outside of fates. Otherwise, you have to stand outside the party, and party up to do a fate togehter. It's a big hassle.
