If we had more ear and tail options for Miqo'te, particularly kinds that are less "cat," the desires for more animalistic races could be fulfilled for a lot of players.

Hmm, I think the Miqo'te ears are technically part of the hairstyle at a programming level? (I remember noticing when I looked through the hairstyle options that some of the ears are slightly different shapes.) Even if they wanted to, they might not be able to give "other" animal ear shapes without either multiplying the number of designs stored in the system, or limiting the combinations by only having certain styles with certain ear shapes - a similar issue to the Au Ra faces/horns but probably even more of an issue because it would have to replace existing "style X with cat ears" information with "style X now has bunny ears" and any existing characters with that hairstyle would probably not be impressed.

In short, I don't think it could happen - it would likely cause more problems than it solves at a game level, and I don't think it would make sense at a lore level either. Miqo'te are cats. It's too late to try to turn them into something else.

Very hard to choose only 1 of them.
We badly need more faces and more options on faces.
It really bothers me we have only 3-4 faces to choose from. Feels like it's an MMO from the last decade.
More facial hair and muscle sliders (with better muscle definitation textures) for all genders and races would be nice.
The character customization needs a "Reborn" overhaul. And it needs it badly, really badly.

Having recently played ESO for the first time recently...I wish character creation here had as many dials to adjust as that game. Yes, it has butt sliders, which while I initially laughed, I found that it’s better than being stuck with little to no butt at all.

My main wish is to allow different hairstyles depending on what gear set you have active, or perhaps find a way to attach different styles to different glamour plates.

I don't pretend to know how the game works, and perhaps the way the game is coded or otherwise handled makes this a daunting, if not impossible task, but that isn't going to stop me from dreaming. There are certain hairstyles I love that just clip with certain glamour sets I love, I don't have a universal hairstyle that works with everything. ;_;

I want them to unlock all features within a particular race. With things unlocked, you can mix and match the various noses, eyes, mouths that are each currently locked to specific faces. It would go quite a long-way for letting us create more unique looking characters.

As far as the butt thing goes - I'd be happy if they just gave us a tiny bit more roundness to balance out the rest of the figure. Doesn't need to be huge butts (although a slider would be nice) - just so my poor femroe doesn't look like a lego character in tight pants. As it is now except maybe female aura and lala the characters are just look oddly proportioned when it comes to butts.

I have a theory that a lot of the body piece design has been developed around disguising that we have no butts. All the attached belts stuff, skirts, frills etc.

I'd also like more tattoo options, body scars, better long hair up-dos (to reduce clipping but still be long hair), maybe even silly things like body glitter and nose rings.

I don't know if this is exactly the case as the ears have individual animations. It's just a tacked on model just like different tail types. It's just that some of the older options (all the 1.0 and 2.0 cuts) have different textures, different fuzz details, and on some male cuts, spots.

The deal I have is you can tell SE eventually started just taking on the same two sets of ears and tacking them on every hairstyle. We haven't seen a Miqo'te custom variant haircut in ages outside the odango buns in ages.


Thing is, we DO have an example of the ear model getting swapped out with the Werewolf Ears.



I guess SE's choice to avoid ear customization on Miqo'te may come down to reanimating them for a whole bunch of emotes.


Otherwise, I know the explanation behind Au Ra horns was something to do with datacap thresholds on avatars. For some reason, SE decided horns options were a less important option than like, eyes rings (??), so they locked horns to the face choice.

Speaking of Miqo'te, they have a similar but far less pronounced issue with facial striping.
