A player cannot exceed level 50 until they've done Sashtasha, yet a party ENTIRELY of players over 50 can still end up in Sashtasha. Clearly, none of them need it for MSQ, and it is highly unlikely that any of those 4 players queued for it specifically.

That's not entirely true. Sure it's one hell of a grind but so long as they have at least HW registered it can be done.

I always get Ifrit or Titan when I'm healer or Toto-Rak (I hate Toto-Rak nobody avoids the poison ever!)

And about all those Satasha/copperbell/tam tara runs...totally not the altoholics fault nope..okay fine...
