Tank dps harrasment

If the dungeon is finished with no one dying and tank has never lost hate while the tank\healer does super low DPS and takes 35 minutes

WHICH ONES BETTER?

I hate this whole false dichotomy where it's portrayed as only possible for a Healer or Tank to do their jobs if they completely neglect DPSing. There are PLENTY of talented Healers\Tanks who do both just fine. If you aren't one, it isn't on the community to pat you on the head and give you points for trying, it's on you to improve.

Or be stubborn and childish and drop party. Honestly, do that. Chances are we'll get a better replacement.

Some people just aren't that good, or can't get better. That is why there is casual content and hardcore content. What bothers me is when some raiders expect people in casual content to have the same hardcore drive as they do. Would I prefer a 15 minute Expert run over a 35 minute one? Of course. Am I going to throw a fit that DF threw me in with "filthy casuals" and prompted a longer run? No. Not at all. Because Expert is casual content. I push myself when and where I can, but I not going to demand raid-level play in casual content. Now, if I see someone standing around doing absolutely nothing, I might say something. But that's all it would be. Saying something, nicely. But I will not require a raider's drive out of them. Now, if we're talking EX or Savage, then yes, I'll be more critical and have higher expectations of those around me.

Casual content is for casuals. Some people cannot reach the drive of raiders, and it's unfair to expect them to. If I PUG casual content and pull teammates that are highly geared and extremely effective, I consider that a bonus, not the baseline.

If the dungeon is finished with no one dying and you never loose hate then a tank has done theyre job, to hell with those thinking anything. Especially dpsers who will never tank because they don't get theyre numbers high -laughs-

I am a full time Main tank and Healer. I will block anyone that starts complaining saying im not doing enough dps on either. They can go find another group and go back waiting in there long ass Queue

Aside from the spelling mistakes which I fixed I want to put this post in my signature, as a fellow tank main, lol. the primary job of a tank is tanking. DPS is a bonus. Yes even in raids.

Also one thing I noticed with FF logs is unless you've done TONS and TONS of ex primals and savage raids your numbers are going to be irrelevant and useless as they seem to have to be manually uploaded by people, which means the sample size will be too small for usage.

Aren't hunts enmity based? If so then you are correct in going tank stance and doing your enmity combo. Healers can also overheal.

You had an unlucky dungeon group, because most people understand that dungeons are a training ground for literally everything else. Perfection is not required.

Yesterday, I was removed out of a hunt group killing A/S ranks because I was tanking in shield oath also

Ok this is pretty stupid. From my experience, enmity generation = contribution toward full credit. Generally a tank + healer spamming AoE heals for a bit can solidify full credit for your team. Personally I don't stay in tank stance the entire fight, but I stay in it long enough that I'm sure the team will get full credit

Yes. Absolutely. These are the types of people that create those who are vastly against parsers/parsing, and what created the dev's stance on parsers/parsing. They need to be punished. Harassment is still harassment

That is when you report people for third party program use. No one knows your DPS numbers except those that use the program. Those that remove you for this are abusing it in a way that has been expressed as to why they don't want to even make an official version of it.

You only need numbers for fflogs and epeening. As long as you do your job and can clear the content, you don't need them.

You met a bunch of jerks, but I repeat what I said in my other post: I’m fairly confident in saying that the vast majority of players don’t care what you do in dungeons. Because they’re dungeons. So long as you aren’t losing aggro while IN tank stance, cleaving the party, or not using your mitigation, people rarely say anything. Because they don’t care what goes on in dungeons as long as things go smoothly.

it stems from alex gordias, if people are saying "kick cuz numbers said you suck" you can report it as vote kick abuse as they are miss-using their parser. I personally rather tank be in tank stance, its the dps's job to deal the dps.

idk why ppl want tanks in dps in shinryu, he does a lot of tank busters/unavoidable damage in normal.. can't imagine shin ex

It doesn't stem from anything but the idea that in extreme or Savage content, everyone should be aiming to contribute as much as they can. People set their own rules for play style when they make PF. If you get butthurt that somebody kicks you from a PF because they don't want to carry you, feel free to report them, but good luck having anything come of that.

"DPS is just the DPS's responsibility" is the worst mindset to have. DPS is everyone's responsibility. If OP doesn't want to be discriminated against because of his fflogs rankings, he needs to git gud and improve them.

Lol what? Do you understand bunch of player in FF community who play in PS4? WE do no have the ability to improve are rank at will without needing a third party friend or whatever. This already is a issues.

This is why we can't have nice things. This attitude right here is why the devs are so against in-game parsers and why a significant portion of the player-base is against them, too.


There is absolutely no reason to kick a tank over their dps in dungeons or hunts. If a group needs their tank's dps to clear casual content, there has to be something seriously wrong with the dps.
