Once I've invited my college friend to play FFXIV, I didn't tell her about gold chocobo feather and Recruit a Friend Champaign because I don't want her to think that I'm using her to obtain those.
Later I found out that her friends from her previous school also play, and gave her the invitation code after she started playing. I don't think she had been enjoying the free trial, but I'm devastated since the only one who can help me to get a draught chocobo is her.
I don't fully blame on her friends for giving the invitation code, but I'm desperately need one two-seated mount. I have someone in my friend list that new to the game and had to run around the area when we're looking for FATE (Yokai Watch event) and he missed half of the FATE we've been through.
I wanted to give him a fast ride so he won't miss more, but I guess I can't actually fulfill my hopes. I can also use the two-seater mount to help new people unlock aether currents in HeavensWard and StormBlood.

There is a friend recruitment thread on the New Player section of this forum where you could post your friend codes. You could also attach them to your forum signature or offer them to novices in-game. I think reddit has a friend recruitment forum as well. Other options are getting married in game with the paid Platinum plan (there is a marriage partner thread here somewhere), doing 2000 mentor roulettes and paying for a mount in the Mog Station.

there is a two seater mount in mog station and imo worth the cash. there is also the wedding mount.

tbh you shoulda jumped on the recruitment, your friend woulda gotten rewards as well as you.

Rinuko is correct. The the Eternal Bond mount is alot cheaper then the moogle mount. For EU Eternal Bond cost 7 euro and you get the wedding 2 seater mount, the moogle 2 seater mount cost 21 euro. The only downside for the wedding is, that it requires another player.

My advice, find a friend or someone who is looking for a husband/wife, so they can obtain the items.

I've actually had a question regarding that. Since I can't find the code anywhere on the Mogstation when I look, do I just email myself the thing and then copy and paste whatever is in the email into that thread? I saw it once, and haven't looked at it again honestly.

Yup, that's how it works. I think you can generate a code every few hours.
