    Suggestion: Enemy Wave style dungeon

An Enemy wave PVE type instance would be one in which the players fight monsters that keep coming in waves.

What would make this excellent though would be thinking outside the box when it comes to party composition! Include gatherers & crafters!

    Battle classes
Take on incoming monsters to try to stop them

    Gathering classes
Gather items which go to a "party inventory" (similar to POTD's pomanders)

    Crafting classes
Use the party items to make party buffs (boost HP, attack, etc...)

And to "repair" weapons that are on the map.

Example: "Broken Cannon" would need 10 gathered slabs of (instance-specific) iron that the crafters use. Once it's repaired, any player of any class can then use this to shoot enemies for 5 cannonballs before it breaks again.

    Rewards
Based on how many waves of monsters before a wipe.
    Or based on a timer.

I had to look that up because I did not play 1.0

Not exactly, though it's certainly quite similar, but a smaller scale. Not 50 hours, and without needing 2 phases (1 for gather/craft, 1 for battle). This is just one area, maybe 30 mins, and all classes at once (gatherers/crafters stay in the back and the combat classes make sure nothing gets to them).

But I wouldn't be opposed to having both this idea and this Hamlet thing

Hamlet in 1.0 just changed areas every 50 hrs when you went in it was 30 min usually 2 tanks 2 healers 2 DoL and 2 DoH the crafters would craft buffs as the getherers would gather things for the buffs. Then the bosses would be tanked by the tanks and then if you only needed 1 a dps could help also

Then yeah, they should bring it back. Don't they know they should have kept the good stuff?
I floated the idea around in my server's Novice chat (no one mentioned this existed in 1.0) and there was positive feedback for it.

You have my +1. I would say to scale it to where you need 1 healer, 1 dps, and 1 tank. Give the 4th regular spot to a gather/crafter and make the waves more dependent on gather's/crafters the longer it goes. Just a idea here, make every 5 minutes a goal where gather's/crafters need to gather and make X amount of items. For the combat classes, every 5 minutes they need to defeat 50-70 mobs which is not unreasonable if scaled correctly. Make it a set ilvl as well of around 300ish.
