    It is impossible with the current gameplay. Evade AoEs will be painful, and melee classes will suffer when they need move for positions. The only way to do this is add the animation, but keep the current movement speed. And that will look very weird.

    The movement was the least of the problems when it took over half a second for an Aldgoat's knockback to register. The engine/server needs an overhaul at it's core with all the excuses that get thrown around. Someone really wasn't doing their job properly.

    The real question is, if they added this couldn't we just cancel the animation if we need to keep running or to move? This fixes all the problems people are bringing up.
    And yes I support this, I hope we get more quality of life now that ps3 isn't holding us back like before.

    I would like this feature for when we Sprint really. We don't really run that hard in the game under normal movement. Sprinting makes more sense to have this feature.

    it works in gw2 just fine.
    That's cause it's a slight animation at the first step of your movement and not an actual delay in your character's hitbox movement/acceleration.

    I didn't play 1.0, but WildStar has momentum effects and I love how it feels. FFXIV has always felt rather "floaty" in terms of running around. Supporting OP!

    Bring back the animations (fully cancellable to prioritize gameplay of course, like Devil May Cry's animations) but not the inertia. Inertia wouldn't work with the way this game is, and especially not the server responses non-Japanese folks can be dealing with.

    I loved the feel of it in 1.0 but it's not made for ARR and beyond.
