Depends what you consider a steady amount. Daily roulettes will net you a chunk of gils. 5 or 10 mins gathering a timeworn map each day can net you a ton of gils if you flog em. Or potentially mega gils if you do the canals.

The problem the game has is gil actually comes incredible easily. There's almost nothing worth spending it on. You dont need to buy food cos the average player already overgears 99% of content anyway. So a few extra points of crit wont mean a thing.

Don't need materia for same reasons as above. Combined with how fast gear is replaced means it's bit worth investing in melding when it'll be replaced next week. No point buying crafted gear when tome stone stuff is so easy to get.

Again no point buying crafted gear because it's usually far to expensive to justify it's lifespan. 6 mil for some of the 320 weapons. Susanos are free... Or you can save a few weeks and get lore 330 or Shinryu 335.

You simply don't need money for anything other than maybe few glamours and I think that's a big factor in while the economy doesn't circulate much. Nothing to spend money on so people just get richer and richer and richer without even trying.
