Gathering retainers are fairly decent and mostly passive income. They will require an initial time commitment upfront, but it pays off (they don't need to be a super high level to be good).

Find a material that does well on the market board. Send them on a venture to collect a quantity of that item. They'll be back in around an hour.

Your mileage may vary, but crystals, flax, and silver ore would be low-level items I'd check prices and movement on.

Yep. This is how I've gotten a lot of money recently. My retainers have brought me back 2 koalas, and 3 mameshibas. And sold them all for around a 50m total. All this income without being even logged into the game.

May I ask what ilvl your gatherers are? Mine is Miner/Botanist i296 and I'm not sure if that's high enough to get a minion.
