Option to turn of bumper "tab targeting" for PS4 QoL

I was wondering if we could ever get the option to turn off tab targeting on controllers. The controller has various ways to switch between targets one of them involves the use of holding down, on a ps4 controller for example, L2 or R2 while pressing L1 or R1 to cycle between targets which is a pretty nifty thing.
But I'm sick of it I hate so much nowadays because you also use L1 and R1 in combination with other buttons to switch between hotbars and L2 and R2 to access said hotbar to execute actions.
I tend to play finger yoga with my controller keeping gcds on hotbar 1 and abilities on hotbar 2, its how I do, I kinda learned to live with it but lately I find my self losing my mind accidently switching target trying to switch to a different hotbar ESPECIALLY in pvp.
I switch targets with the directional pad and have never had a need for bumper targeting and simply wish for an option to disable it. If there is an option to turn it off I sure as check have never found it. Tell me I'm not alone on this???

i don't have issues personally, my issues have been it targets a mob out in left field instead of the ones right in front of me. May want to tighten up your lay out by using the wxbh and the expanded option which don't require bumper presses.

No options what so ever believe me I turned the character and system settings upside down. And I really didn't like the expanded options for the crossbar playing the way I have been for the past 4 years. All I want is an option to turn that nonsense off.

which would be under the controller settings if it existed. meaning you click the bumper and turn off the tab target option. the expanded hotbar stuff isn't hard to use, more so the wxhb set up of double tapping. that is the only other option you got to remove the need to press the bumper. SE did add it to ease players on having to juggle hotbars. like you are doing.

it sounds like you have abilities on crossbar 1 and crossbar 2 and physically switch between them. However, you can turn on an option where you can press L2 > R2 or R2 >L2 to access 2 extra half crossbars each, effectively access to another whole crossbar and there is an option to double tap R2 or L2 and have the same results, making access to 3 full crossbars easy and without having to physically switch between them.
