    DDos

    So I know I am not alone on this but has anyone else been getting D/ced like crazy in game? I was kicked out 4 times just today! I know its the DDos attacks but is SE gonna address this or am I just not gonna get a drop at all from the Royal city since every time I go in the entire raid D/c's on the second boss (that boss is hard enough but now we have an EX version of it with this DDos crap) when will SE address this issue?

    It isn’t an issue SE can really address, sadly. DDoS is one of the few things out of their control, because it’s affecting the ISPs. It’s not their servers or their server infrastructure (for once).

    GOOGLE: ISPs are, without a doubt, the experts in DDoS mitigation and are uniquely positioned to protect their customers' network against malicious traffic. ISPs can detect and filter out potential DDoS packets before they reach your border, preventing such attacks from consuming all of your available bandwidth.

    As far as I know from what i have heard from so many others you can prevent this and even stop it, though I don't know much about the process I do know that it is possible SE isn't helpless but they are doing nothing when they could be doing something.

    And what would you propose they do? Call their server providers and ISPs to demand a solution? And what are the ISPs going to tell them? "We're working on it."

    The DDoS attacks and congestions are not SE's fault, nor is there anything they can do about it other than call their server and network providers and ask that they do something.

    As for addressing it, SE has already posted about these Network Difficulties on the Lodestone.

    It isn't the SE servers that are seeing the DDoS attack. It is the ISP, NTT, the use to connect to the internet that is being attacked. All SE can do is push on the provider to try to do a better job. By the NTT is not alone L3, another backbone provider, has been reporting attacks the last few days as well.

    I expect them to at least do that! I can't even log into a game that I am paying for, or maybe they can compensate me the last few days this has been happening? Though SE isn't directly responsible for these attacks and the services that are obviously failing to be given, but they are still the ones who are in contract with them and are still accountable for the game experience that we all share this isn't new and its been weeks since this has been going on what I want to know from others is if you were in SE shoes would you keep the providers that are suppose to be preventing these attacks and why?

    SE has already stated they are working with the ISPs to help find a solution. All we can do is bite the bullet and hope it gets resolved ASAP. If you wish to complain more, feel free to contact your ISP and gripe at them. Believe me, I've thought of doing that myself...

    They have already stated they are working with their ISPs and server providers to try and find a solution. As for compensation, again, this is NOT the fault of SE. Would it be nice if they gave players a free day or something? Of course. But they are not required to give us anything. Because the gameplay interruptions are not directly caused by them, and, as per ToS, that is the only time they would be responsible to compensate their customers: if gameplay was interrupted for an extended period of time, and it was clearly their fault. DDoS is not SE's fault.

    According to today's update the DDoS problems should have been mitigated. We shall see.

    Instead of pointing out the obvious, I'll ask this - what, exactly, do you expect SE to do about this? And how do you expect them to go about it?
