If my connection or those around me (pokeballs EVERYWHERE) have anything to say, the last 4hrs have been just as bad as any other time. Good luck running dungeons when your tank and/or healer is teleporting around the map only to disappear into the void.According to SE the DDoS attacks have been mitigated. Hopefully they are correct.

Yeah no sooner than I post that and get into a dungeon guess what? Anyone have an egg I can borrow? LOL
I was hoping things would be better upon seeing that post, but I’ve logged in and the NN on my server is still complaining about lag and disconnects. Alas.According to SE the DDoS attacks have been mitigated. Hopefully they are correct.

They might only be able to say when their network or direct ISP's network has ceased to be DDoD's. if its an ISP on the route, but no direct contact to SE, then they probably have no clue whats going on.
That 10 or so minutes they reported aligns with the mass DC last night, when even I was effected. I havent been effected otherwise, so its not SE or their direct ISP.
It is the way SE does login. That is why when Balmung crashes and all try to log back in a server with 500 people can't log back in. It is a awesomely (/cry) designed system compared to other game lobbies.
Companies only do compensation (of any style) for unexpected and extended downtime that was within the realm of the company to prevent.I can see their point though. Many other games give small items in exchange for unexpected downtime. They could do something small like throw us some silver chocobo feathers or another form of compensation. Nothing too major, but something considering that it takes play time from people who may not be able to play a lot due to having a RL.
If the game went down for a week because of something SQE did (and it wasn't a scheduled down time), or if there was a widespread error with the login server that didn't allow players to get into the game; then they would be in a position to compensate the player base.
Something like this though? SQE cannot reward the player base for the trouble that a DDoS attack caused, because then there would be setting a precedent for the company's public relations with it's customers and even customers may be incentivized to contribute to a DDoS in order to push SQE for more conciliatory items.
Ya, because people will be tempted to BREAK THE LAW for a chance at getting $1 worth of free digital stuff. Do some of you even think before you type or read your own posts before hitting submit?Companies only do compensation (of any style) for unexpected and extended downtime that was within the realm of the company to prevent.

Also the majority of unplanned service disruptions are not the direct fault of that company and that's what makes then UNPLANNED. Guess what though, it's called customer service and giving a damn about your customers. They pay YOU money, not the company that supposedly is the one being hit. And my guess? The true target is SE and they are just indirectly attacking SE for the most efficient results. Since no one can prove or disprove that, every company that is effected should be assuming the ddos is meant for them.
W/e not like it matters to me anymore anyways. Another day of lagg every 20 minutes was enough. I gave them until the end of my sub month. It's just a shame there was no option to tell them the real reasons why I was un-subbing though.

Ya sorry, This says one thing to me.
There process of resolving this is sending off an email to someone to take care of it at the ISP.
I know this because I have the phone number for 2 top level ISP engineers in Canada, and the Cell number of one of the CEO and CTO. I work for a telco.. Sorry a ddos attack at ISP level isn't resolved in 2 mins.
As there was issue after 7:40 AM today it's not resolved. Also I don't want credit. If it's bad enough there are 100's of other games out there. Many with there own issues.

Not to defend them but the service issues is on the ISP side of things not one SE Servers. They have already stated this. Unless you want to contact their ISP and demand some money so you cant play a game. Go for it. You realize how ignorant you really sound.
