Constant rubberbanding lag after 8:00pm CST.

It happens every night to me. No other program, no other application, no other online service gives me the lag that FFXIV gives me around 8:00pm CST EVERY NIGHT.

I raid with my group between 8-10pm a few nights a week and let me tell you. Any lag what so ever means a wipe.

This rubberbanding needs to be addressed. I am not the only one to report this issue.

I'm using Comcast cable and I have even increased speeds. Directly connected with an ethernet cable. But as I said, ONLY FFXIV rubberbands and lags. No other program has this issue

People tell me it's the pathing to SE servers. Ever since the California server move, the quality of the server's connectivity has declined greatly.

    Something needs to be done.

I'm jumping on the rubber-band wagon. I've been having issues for over 2 months now. 3 East coast nodes are absolutely terrible with packet loss for me. Specifically in New York and Seattle, Washington.

I live in Eastern Washington and rubber banding lag bad for me here. What gets me when it doing it says my ping is 30 to 40 at the time its happening. Also don't use wireless internet. Have all my ip addresses reserved and port forward my router to how ffxiv support said to do. When get severe lag and starts rubber banding says my ping is at 30. Says now when when routing to Tokyo its 80 to 100.

@hynaku - Out of curiosity. Are you able to download WinMTR and ping the Primal Data Center to show your route to server? Like I said before there are at least 3 routers on the east coast that are causing me packet loss for the past 2 months. I want to see if you have a similar path to the server as me.

Found a fix now. I'm using Pingzapper to go from my place to Tokyo then to where ever ffxiv servers are. Get some lag but don't disconnect anymore. Don't say use Google dns already been using it for years.

I will post in this thread for every time this lag/rubberbanding occurs.

It's happening again, and this problem is not getting fixed.

I cannot raid end game content and enjoy this game with the server acting up like this.

I've had a bad time in game since patch 4.06a, it's never changed since that patch for me. Many times I've posted and said this though. I'll throw up yet another trace route for reference.

Honestly, I have no idea what caused my route to server to become suddenly so awful after patch 4.06a. My connection to game was pretty much perfect before then.

There should be a better way than having to route your traffic through tokyo, as you're literally going 4x further distance than the server is from you. The NA servers are located in California. A simple switching of my DNS to google has solved this for me in the past, however, as of recently, I no longer get any lag whatsoever nor have to route anything. I'm living towards Nashville, TN and the game works great for me.

The servers are still lagging and rubber banding. This problem is still happening to me every night at the same time. What is this?

Again, we were unable to properly progress in o4s tonight because of this lag, and it was not just me for sure. It was our entire static that got d/c symbol after lag spike over and over again.

This is what SE support suggested to me:
Thank you for contacting SQUARE ENIX Support,

The issue you are describing is most associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on Internet Explorer. Other times it occurs when an application that is running in the background is causing interference, such as Anti-virus software, firewalls, media players, web browsers, etc.

Please make sure all background applications (including anti-virus programs such as Norton, Kaspersky, Windows Defender, etc.) have been disabled and/or closed to minimize game interference.

Ensure that the latest version of Internet Explorer is installed on your PC (even if you don't use Internet Explorer), please do not use Edge as that is a different internet platform. Once Internet Explorer is up-to-date, please open the IE browser, open the "Tools", go to "Internet Options" and adjust the following settings:
Under the "General" tab, please delete ALL browser history.
Under the "Security" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or no higher than "Medium"
Under the "Privacy" tab, please move the slider to the lowest possible settings or to "Allow All Cookies"
Under the "Advanced" tab, please make sure that "Allow software to run or install even if signature is invalid" is CHECKED.
Make sure that all SSL and TLS (EXCEPT SSL 3.0) are CHECKED.
    [SSL 3.0 should be UNCHECKED]
Hit "Apply" to save the settings, and then "OK, to close the Internet Options menu.
Right-Click on the FFXIV launcher icon and select "Properties"
Go to the "Compatibility" tab, and change the compatibility mode to "Windows 7"
Hit "Apply", then "OK" to save the changes.
    Please RESTART your PC now.
Once your PC has been restarted, Right-Click the FFXIV launcher icon once more and select "Run as Administrator"
If the suggestions provided above do not resolve the issue, then there is a communication error.
Check the following Port Ranges on your router/modem to ensure that the following Port Ranges have been opened/forwarded/triggered:
    ?TCP
    54992 through 54994,
    55006 through 55007,
    55021 through 55040

You may learn how to do this by visiting http://www.portforward.com/
Find your specific router's brand and model number from the 'List of Routers' and you will be provided a step-by-step guide on how to access these port settings.
Otherwise, your ISP may forward these ports for you.

If you have properly configured your router, and you are still experiencing these issues, our next suggestion is to bypass the router, and connect your computer directly to your modem. Please ensure that you power down both the modem and the computer for at least five minutes before attempting to connect to FINAL FANTASY XIV.

If you continue to receive these same errors when you are connected directly to the modem, then the problem lies with your ISP. We would recommend contacting them and advising them that one or more of the ports previously provided to you are being blocked or filtered, and that you do need access on these ports.

Thank you for contacting the SQUARE ENIX Support Center.
I did all this, and then the support then blames my ISP if I still have this problem.

This is wrong, so very wrong.

    Fix

    your

    servers.
