    I totally agree with this.

    IMHO, Nearly ALL dungeon/NM drops should be special materials, and not full weapons or gear -- unless there is a logical reason for the mob to carry the weapon (ie. you kill Gilgamesh and get one of his swords or a piece of Genji armor) or it comes from a chest/coffer.

    In my perfect world, Ifrit would never have dropped weapons, only a horn (mabye 30% chance of 1 per fight, 30% chance of a 2nd if head incap). Horns could then be crafted into weapons and the weapons could be meldable. It really makes more sense when you think about it.

    But Yoshi-P likes the idea of non-craftable (U/U) weapons and this leads to all sorts of balance issues when measured up against materia. I hope they get it sorted out by the time 2.0 comes around.

    But melding U/U stuff is not something I support.
