I see so many problems poping if this would to be implemented. How about, when a house is relinquished and bought both players in question have thier gil transactions for the past X amount of time looked into. If a large amount is transferred from the new owner to the old owner by any means then both accounts are temp banned, new owner loses the house, and old owner loses all the new gil. In other words. the GMs could ACTUALLY do their jobs by upholding the ToS and there is a gil sink that is worth a damn.
When I open this thread, I was expecting like sending them bunch of poisoned cupcakes.
The resale window and convert option is nice, but I don't see how any form of gifting would not be abused by the flippers.
I have better idea: gives us actual system to sell houses to other players and recognize "those evil flippers" as any other trader. Price is dictated by market, it's high because people are ready to pay it. Plot prices set by SE are a joke.
I'd gladly buy large house from someone if I had 100% guarantee it's safe. There is nothing else to do with gil anyway.

Not really a fix though. People pay cause they are desperate.I have better idea: gives us actual system to sell houses to other players and recognize "those evil flippers" as any other trader. But that's (in much simplification) how economy works: balance between supply and demand. With such a small supply it's only natural to have very high price. Artificially limiting options to buy houses only from SE/server is not a solution and results in making supply even smaller (by encouraging hoarding). If players could sell houses it'd make prices high but at the same time everyone could just "earn" it in their own pace and not rely on RNG or beg SE for more plots.
I'm not saying you're wrong but I see problems with say someone sell a Large in Shirogane for 500M-1000M (seen it happen) and it be placed on MB (imagine the taxes damn) we havnt really solved anything , we just moved the transactions and made it "safer" but the issue remains. But that's (in much simplification) how economy works: balance between supply and demand.
