I use a macro for mine when I'm raiding or doing dungeons, etc. You can tweak it as you like and add stuff or remove as needed. Example below. Useful for when you want to keep only combat related UI shown and hide the rest.

    /hud dlist
    /hud tbar
    /hud gil
    /hud igrid
    /hud mmenu
    /hud ebar
    /hotbar display 4
    /hotbar display 5
    /hotbar display 6
    /hotbar display 7
    /hotbar display 8

If you turn this setting off, your cross hot-bar wont appear unless being used

The regular hotbar still appearing is my cooldown hotbar, just ignore that.........
also Im not sure this works with normal hotbars.

Again, this just makes the element invisible. This does NOT make it magically visible when in combat. This is just the manual way of doing the "/hud crosshotbar" command.

The toggle for weapon drawn is /battlemode or /bm for short. It also takes arguments "on" and "off". So you could have a macro with

    /bm off

and a bunch of lines disabling your hotbars, and another macro with

    /bm on

    making them visible again.

Edit: oh, Ghastly answered own question. I'd only read up to "is it /seathe ?"

Yeah hiding it through menu isn't the way I was thinking of :x the macro way with /hotbar display 1 toggle , is more automatic and exact. I really wish they would just add it to the character configuration menu though. Seems like a great quality of life update than having to write a macro for it.

Oh but maybe the menu way only works for cross hotbar (controller). But yeah on pc we have to use macro.
