NA data center DDos issues

U.K. Player on NA Aether data center(Siren) and had disconnection problems since Monday,at start they knew nothing about it on the phone,then later same day they put it on lodestone explaining NA data centres are experiencing DDos attacks.i left it couple days and tried last night in the 24 man raid,few time I got the dc symbol along with others too,think at one point there was 7 of us got it all same time then after 20 seconds was ok again.not comfortable to play like this,anyone else still having this problem still?i hope SE are still trying to fix it they haven't said anything since Monday.

Yeah it has been pretty bad the past couple of days. Sometimes manageable, sometimes unplayable.

Lag and latency has been consistent since Monday the 6th of November. It usually starts getting bad around 6pm EAST time all the way up to 11pm EST

We're getting DDoSed in NA because there are certain users in certain parts of the world that will soon be asked to pay what everyone else is paying for the game instead of getting a special discount. This happened before, and the timeframe for implementation of the new pricing structure was moved back to 11/14/17. These individuals are hoping they can get that timeframe pushed back again, or removed altogether, because they believe they're better than the rest of the world and don't have to pay what we have to pay to play.

The solution is to ignore this and to keep playing. This isn't SE's fault; they've done what they can to mitigate it. The rest is up to the various ISPs that make up the global internet infrastructure. They'll catch up. Our situation will improve. And, most importantly, terrorism will not win.

Just keep playing.

And remember, there is little that SE or the ISPs can do to stop these attacks. The best way I have ever heard them explained is imagine you are in a room that is designed to hold 20 people talking at once. You are listening to 10 people talk, then 50 other people come in shouting over them. You can't stop people from either talking or coming in, because that is what the room is for, and to stop the "Noise Makers" you would have to stop everyone. So please be patient and understanding with them during this. It sucks, I know. I moved a few months back and renewed my sub to start playing last week, only to walk into this mess. It will end, like Calteru stated. These attacks will end when they either make the rooms bigger, or the attackers get bored.

It's the holidays too....DDoS tend to increase at this time both with legit gamers and some groups of people that want to ruin everyones holidays....After two years of DDoS'd holidays, I've pretty much come to expect this every year...

From what i read it's hard to get around some of these DDOS attacks. My idea is why not only have a login server to the internet. Once you log in and your account it is verified then it checks your IP address which is not a hard process. Then it attaches you to the server after that and only allows your IP address that was verified. Wouldn't matter if your IP address ever changed because the login server would check your IP the next time you logged into it again. This way only the logging server could be effected by the DDOS attacks and if it takes a minute or two longer to Log in who cares as long as it doesn't effect the game. Login server could have QOS so DDOS attacks couldn't take all the bandwidth.

Mother of Rhalgr... I can’t play this game unless I craft and gather exclusively. Fates are now impossible to finish. I already gave up on dungeons for the last three months.

I can say I learned one thing from doing NOTHING but crafting and gathering, Square Enix really does ban RMTs. I always doubted they actually did anything, but if you spend enough time getting familiar with names on the market, you’ll see names of players that do nothing but manipulate prices for predatory profits. Then you would notice that the worst offenders are routinely banned.

Although, little joy is had in knowing this when you can’t even finish the story line because of crippling connection problems.
