There are sooo many contradicting points from PvE players opposing a PvP zone.
1. It doesn't fit into the lore
- Yet there was an entire duty where the WoL sided with Ishgard against Adders, Flames and Mael with Raubahn being the last person to face. So yes the factions do fight and this would fit into the Lore.
2. Toxicity - Queue up for DF sometime. Watch the griefing begin. 24 mans are a perfect example. Shoot I stay away from PF because (must have clear, seen X phase, etc) as those are all form of locking out players who are less experienced. So I never see relevant hard content because I don't want to deal with the elitism. Yeah I could form my own group but I get to watch peoples patience wear thin. You see learning parties state (stay for the end) because people leave so quickly. It may not be verbally toxic but it isn't helpful either.
3. Bullying/Griefing - One zone is going to cause more griefing than.... hunts? yeah I think not.
4. FFXIV community won't get behind an open world zone - FFXIV community is also made up of a lot of FFXI veterans and there were 3 open world zones that had PvP. For those of you too young to experience it, it was called Ballista. Also yet another example of how PvP and PvE can coexist.
5. Go to another game - There is a reason why we are playing this game. FFXIV is a theme park MMO where you don't have to get everything or participate in everything. Maybe I like the story and the classes but I want to PvP with those classes in this game. You don't have to participate.
6. No story involved - Gatherers were told to suck it up and complete the story just so they could unlock the new zones. Why would it hurt to have a beast tribe that is pvp focused? It isn't necessarily story related. I don't see how the Moogle beast tribe was relevant "story content". It is optional you don't have to participate.
