I vote for this way.. makes much more sense... and I love the fact that if they do it this way.. it add challenge to get the skills you desire.Yes but the question Noctis was answering was whether or not we'd need to continue leveling the lower of the two required jobs to continue questing.
I.e. will the minimum levels be:or
- CNJ30 GLA15 (Stone, First Skill)
- CNJ35 GLA17 (Second Skill)
- . . .
- CNJ50 GLA25 (Final Skill)
- CNJ30 GLA15
- WHM35 [i.e. CNJ35] (Second Skill)
- . . .
- WHM50 [i.e. CNJ50] (Final Skill)
if i am not mistaken all the quests will be unlocked through the class that unlocks the job since its skill level is based off it. i could be mistaken, but i don't think the secondary(if they plan to have one) is going to have any bearing on the class besides unlocking them.Yes but the question Noctis was answering was whether or not we'd need to continue leveling the lower of the two required jobs to continue questing.

the reason i stated if they still have one if because once yoshi stated the gla30/mrd15 for unlocking pld, but later he mentioned they would be on a 1 to 1 basis so it may just be gla only to unlock pld. i know he stated in the future he wanted to have jobs that took multiple classes to unlock them, but i think that is for jobs in the future and not the jobs coming out this patch.
once again though we don't have all the up to date info on that so it's all just us guessing on what the final product is.

Bay posted the level requirements for each job, there is indeed a secondary class. :< Confirmed that we need both to unlock, but what happens to the "secondary" class after unlocking remains to be seen.a30/mrd15 for unlocking pld, but later he mentioned they would be on a 1 to 1 basis so it may just be gla only to unlock pld. i know he stated in the future he wanted to have jobs that took multiple classes to unlock them, but i think that is for jobs in the future and not the jobs coming out this patch.
Of the two I mentioned, I can imagine both. The first case would be best if the secondary class is directly tied into how we play our job, i.e. if we can use ONLY GLA/CNJ abilties on WHM, or if cross-classes from GLA are enhanced, I would like that GLA continues to be required.
But if GLA is only part of the lore for the unlock quest and has little to do with playing the job, I only want it to be part of the unlock quest, not the remaining job quests.
ok yeah i agree with you then. i hadn't seen the post on the jobs classes required to unlock. if that's the case it could be whm could only use the skills from con/gla. i wouldn't mind if it's that method. i'm glad this is the last week and we will get all info on the patch.Bay posted the level requirements for each job, there is indeed a secondary class. :< Confirmed that we need both to unlock, but what happens to the "secondary" class after unlocking remains to be seen.

Though coattailing on that fact, the only reason it won't be leveled by normal means is because people cry about having to grind.
Well it would make very little sense if we had to level the jobs separately given what they represent. It would be levelling the same classes again. No need for it at all. They can go ahead and add more classes and/or raise the cap for more grinding, not have us grind the same things again.
I didn't see this in the OP, but is something I'm curious about in ragards to event planning for my LS. Can we do the job quests in a party? or are they solo only content? I really liked doing the last story quest in a party, and am hoping at least part of the job quests can be completed similarly.
Since Yoshida is a lot less for catering to the anti-social/everything must be soloable MMORPG community it wouldn't surprise me if they were party based as a lot of new quests and the like allows you to actually do things in a party.
IMO, he's right to do so. Solo in an MMO? No thanks! This isn't SWToR.
We'll see what they've actually done sometime this week i suppose though.
I'm glad he is doing this. Soloing gets boring fast ; ;
