no, hes referring to how pugilist are also obsessed with resurrecting the dead, duh. Seriously though, I'm guessing its cause pugilist are able to harness elements in their attacks.
... You dont get what i mean... Yes you are hired muscle but i was going more into tje mentality and moral if the pgl as a class
Flayer + mrd = bst .... and flayer + thm = blu.

I wouldn't mind that
Yoshi-P does like to ramble on in interviews though
He said he was "contemplating" (See: not implementing, but considering) Beastmaster being a class and its first job being summoner
I really do like Flayer + Thm = Blue Mage though... I like that A LOT
I guess a lot of it depends on how many classes and jobs they want to add... and the timetable
Will they add classes with a job for them... or first will they add a second job to each class?
4 classes per expansion? or will they drop all of the missing jobs/classes at the same time
I personally like the idea of (at least) 2 jobs per class though
you mean how they both use elemental attacks, even if the PGL is just stances... yea... I guess I can see the correlation
I Imagine blm as hired magic instead of hired muscle. So yo get pgl cause you know how that way of life is.
Ok this is cool, i like how the 'basic' jobs start by having 2 classes leveled up.
I like this alot. Curious if those 2 classes required are the only 2 classes whose abilities you can use with the job? Kind of stoaked for the whole run down next week on this.

I would say that the classes they chose as pre-reqs for jobs are unconventional for an MMO but not lacking logic. WHM for example, sure con/thm would be "conventional" but whats not logical about con healing and glad defending the party making the role of whm. I would say glad has more stake in what a whm's role is then thm does just because it has spells, the only thing thm has that would benefit a whm job is mp which glad has as well in this game.

CON/THM makes less sense than CON/GLA in my opinion.
THM is all about offensive magic and the power of destruction. CNJ is more about life and defensive spells.
There's more synergy between a CON and a GLA than a CON and a THM.
Seems to me like people think of THM automatically just because it's the only other mage class.
Also, same can be said for BLM = THM/PGL. Both THM and PGL utilize elements offensively - one by harnessing powerful spells, while the other through a more physical incarnation. Having a job that is much more about destruction unlocked by a sub class that's all about defense and preservation makes less sense.
I'm sure we'll understand much more about why they went with the setup they did when we are actually doing the job quests. Lots of lore for the jobs to be added no doubt.
