Return to game BLM Rotation lvl 50

I've been away from the game for a while about 3/4 years and I've completely forgot the BLM rotation just a quick reminder would be great for single enemies and AoE. As well as general dungeon etiquette as when I was playing before it was a sleep adds and take everything one by one but I've been lead to believe it's spam AoE constantly now.

    Cheers

I've been trying to answer the same question since i picked up my blm again.
So far I've been relying on the procs (Thunderstorm, Firestarter) for the majority of my damage on single target or any group under 4 enemies.
Groups over 4 (not talking mass pulls, just large groups) tend to have such low HP that cast times fail more than succeed. So I just use Thunderstorm procs and scathe.
I've thus far been utterly underwhelmed by Fire II or Flare, but I do the whole "Flare -> Convert ->Swiftcast-> Flare" If it looks somewhat feasible.
Near as I can tell, Enochian and the blizz 4/fire 4 spells turns everything on its head, but I'm not there yet so I cant comment directly.
Hopefully someone can come help us both.

As for anything Crowd Control related (Sleep/Freeze/Blizzard II) I've just not seen any reason at all to even look at them. Tanks have no fear of being overwhelmed or holding agro on multiple targets, so CC is all but useless.

I play FFXIV because I enjoy it.
Sometimes I have to remind myself of that simple fact.

So far I've only been doing the primal trails, not in the mood to do dungeons yet as from what I remember the end game community can not be so great if you don't do what you should be. So far for the trails I've got Swiftcast > Thunder 3 > Fire 3 > Fire 1 (repeat till low MP) > Blizzard 3 > Thunder 3. Then using procs as you've said as and when they become available.

You're on the right track, and that's the core game play for BLM, but it completely changes at 58/60 once you get Blizzard 4 and Fire 4. Your focus after 60 is to maintain Enochian and aim for 100% uptime since without the Enochian buff you can't cast your 4th tier spells, it's a huge dps loss if you let it fall off while it's still on cd. At higher levels your going to be using transpose constantly making sure you don't lose your AF/UI stacks so that you can maintain Enochian during downtime. The way you aoe also changes pretty drastically once you get the level 68 trait whereally you won't be using fire 2 at all. I recommend looking up a guide to familiarize yourself further.

So at your level, an AoE pull is T2, F3, F2, F2, Flare(convert Flare and potion Flare optional), Transpose, T2(as soon as you get a mana tick), and repeat. You dont typically want to wait for full mana, and you dont typically cast other ice spells. Just hardcast back into Astral Fire 3 status, and continue the onslaught. Use any thundercloud procs of course. The ideal time is right after transpose if you can help it.

And to answer your other question, crowd control is dead. Most groups will want to stack the enemies together and AoE them down, and most enemies past level 50 are immune to sleep anyway(it can still be useful in PvP and some solo quests though). The biggest dungeon etiquette mistake these days would be pulling for the tank - they hate that. And if you pull hate its advisable to run the mob(s) back into the group. Definately dont try to run away, as that just makes them harder to take back(and kiting doesnt work).
